Yeah yeah, it's a holiday weekend. Campgrounds are jammed. The lake is jammed. The coast is jammed. All in people.
I'm still dealing with the aftermath of my stomach illness. I still can't eat normally. So home I stay, doing projects.
It was time to try to remove the DVD player, that came with the car, screen hanging down, as the screen clasp had long been broken. It's for backseaters I guess, but never worked and as I said, screen hangs down all the time. I've bonked my head on it multiple times in the three years I have had this car.
Yesterday I took it out. Wasn't a big project. Involved removing four screws. Why didn't I do it years ago? Hmmm. Don't know. I also vacuumed the car and even took off the center console to vacuum what falls through the console to underneath. Not much this time.
All this as the temperature rose to mid 80's in the valley. I don't mind the heat much.
Then I thought I'd like to be cooler. I hauled the Walmart dog/kid pool off a top garage shelf, popped out its dents, washed the bottom and filled it with water. One summer a few years ago, I had that out in the cat yard for the cats. Smolder especially loved it and waded in it. But when it got hot, the algae grew too fast in it to keep controlled and it then found its place near the rafters.
I paid a whole $2.50 for it originally.
I got out my sun hat, my sunglasses and reading glasses, my book and some nice cool lemon water.
I briefly made a try for contact with the outside world. I tried one brother and my other sister in law, whose birthday was Saturday. I remembered to send a card, which is pretty darn good. But she didn't answer Saturday nor yesterday either and neither did my other brother. That was my only effort yesterday at that.
Today it may be even hotter. Last day of the holiday three day weekend. I'm sure there have been the usual holiday misadventures out there.
I love your backyard pool! We've had cold and rainy weather this weekend that required layering up.
ReplyDeleteI've heard about the weather in the east.
DeleteBRILLIANT use of that pool.
ReplyDeleteI have been contacting family for birthdays too. Very brief contacts they turned out to be - but I made the effort.
I'm very glad it wasn't broken on the bottom from its time in the rafters! Nice you made the effort with your family. I made the effort too and its their end not calling back, but I'm good on my end, I figure. We tried, EC.
DeleteThat's cute and big enough to sit in.
ReplyDeleteIt is big enough to sit in. I passed a discount store today and saw a large one sitting outside their doors with other stuff. It looked four feet across and a foot deep. I might check it out. Not that I really need a bigger one. This one does the job.
DeleteOuch on bonker one head.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on and stay safe
At least it would swivel, so the bonk had some give.
DeleteI understand putting off something and regretting it later. ~rolls eyes~ Hearing your giggle in the video made my morning. ~hugs~ Be well!
ReplyDeleteha, well I can't help giggling with my feet in water.
