There is not much to do, I'll say, lately.
So I went again to the park which was crowded with lots of people. I thought I'd get there early but it was nearly 11:00 when I arrived.
I took a short walk first and when back in the parking lot noticed a man getting fishing gear from the back of his pickup. But as I got my walking stick, which is an old ski pole, to go for a longer walk, I noticed the pickup lights were still on. The man was nowhere to be seen.
I walked down to the beach by the river where a family played around and asked them which way the lone middle aged fisherman went. They pointed upriver.
I was going to walk that trail anyway so I took off and followed every offshoot that went down to the river, to see if I'd spot the man whose pickup sat in the parking lot with its lights on. I never did find him. I think I saw him though when I finally left the park in my car and if it was him out on the rocks throwing out his line, he went down river not up.
There were a lot of people on the rather short trail, that's no longer than 1/4 to 1/2 mile. One group I encountered numbered about ten and included kids and adults and dogs.
When the trail dumped me back into the back end of the park, I did not continue and instead became intensely interested in the old moss and fern covered trees down at that end. I took a few photos before returning to my car and heading home.

Today I feel out of sorts. I slept too much and sure was lonely and could find nothing to do at all. Again the weather had turned on us here, gray and ugly with thick wet air.
The irony being that you need plenty of rain for beautiful ferns and moss to grow as in your photos.
ReplyDeleteVery true Andrew.
DeleteLove the photos of the ferns and the moss. I hope that the fisherman got back to his car before the battery went flat.
ReplyDeleteWell his lights looked strong still when I left the park.
DeleteI love the fern tree and all of the other scenes you showed us from your walk. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThat fern tree is so beautiful with dozens of different shades of green and rust.
DeleteGorgeous pictures! The ferns growing on trees are stunning. I'm sorry you feel lonely, bored, and out of sorts. ~hugs~ Take care of yourself.
ReplyDeleteThanks Darla, I'm ok but some days are not as ok as others.
DeleteEveryone is out of sorts! The pics are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI bet you are right about that. I know some days I feel like a caged wild kitty must feel. Or a zoo animal pacing their enclosure. Thanks on the pics, I do enjoy taking them.
