Hey, 30 Lebanon cats fixed today, up in Portland at the FCCO.
Strangely, sitting in a parking lot there, killing time, I read that federal troops will be sent to war ravaged Portland.
War ravaged? Um, where? Shocked? I was.
I messaged a Portland friend and asked her where the war ravaging was going on. I really needed something to do and wanted to go look. She had no idea. Later on, I was talking to my brother in Idaho (I get bored, waiting on the cats, and call pretty much everyone) and mentioned it to him, that I can't find anything resembling war ravaging here. He said "oh they're talking about the four old ladies or so in front of the ICE building."
Anyhow, it's finally cooled off where he lives. He's gotten in good shape this summer mowing lawns. But now winter is coming and he's worried what he'll do for exercise. Me too.
I'm home now, and 11 of the cats were taken back to Lebanon and the colony caretaker to recuperate by the couple who helped me drive all the cats up to the clinic. It was so easy with them helping transport.
I asked the couple who helped what they did for the day, while waiting to help me drive all the cats back home. They went to the Japanese Gardens, for one thing. I haven't been there in a long time. I should go next time I take cats up. They also bought a Harley. What! I said, you bought a Harley, where is it. Some specific parts they wanted on it are on order, so they'll get it later. It wasn't like a sudden decision, they'd been talking about it quite awhile. I can't wait to see it, maybe get a ride? once they have it. I'm actually still motorcycle endorsed from long days riding a motorcycle because it was far cheaper than a car.
Top speed on that bike I rode my brief time in college, down in California, was about 60, with severe vibration. The CA highway patrol stopped quite often, mainly to chat, since it wasn't common for women to ride bikes back then. Once I had a school meeting some sort, over in Santa Rosa, at night and the fog was unbelievably dense. It was frightening it was so dense. But a car fell in behind me and the lights of the car following me closely helped me get up through those winding curvy mountain roads in the dense fog. I was worried though, who was that following me so closely. This was during zodiak killer days. But when I got down out of the mountains and pulled into a gas station, a CA highway patrol went slowly by me. He'd been following me, to help light my way. He slowed down, smiled and tipped his hat, as he continued on.
So I have 19 of the Lebanon cats here, and about ready to go get them settled in for the night.
Signing off.
Something tells me with that many cats around, things weren't that settled at your house last night. :)
ReplyDeleteI left them set up in the car, gave all 19 food, water and all but five will return this morning. The five in question are going to barn homes through SCR tomorrow. Be back to normal soon here.
DeleteI was wondering what was so war-torn in Portland, too.
ReplyDeleteSanta Rosa? That's the airport I flew into to visit my uncle. (He lives in Windsor.)
I briefly went to college near Napa.
