We had sun yesterday. We are supposed to also get sun today. Tomorrow--back to rain.
I did a lot of cat juggling yesterday, running around, the usual.
Chimi, the Sweet Home girl, had been recaught, thank goodness. I met her caregivers over at Alpine. I was over there to deliver a Corvallis girl to the clinic. Tamara, of Northwest Spay & Neuter, had caught her in a trailer park and I offered to hold her overnight and get her to the clinic yesterday morning since Tamara is 20 years younger than I am and works. Yeah, those full time jobs get in the way of trapping sometimes.
In the meantime, I had the five cats from Lebanon back in the car, so I could return them.
After checking the Corvallis girl in, and then Chimi from Sweet Home, when her guy arrived with her, I headed to Lebanon with the five kitties fixed on Thursday. While waiting for Chimi I'd given them more food and water. They were very anxious to get out of the traps and home.

Chimi, a fluffy young girl from Sweet Home, now fixed |
The Lebanon five cats were talkative as I drove them back to their home.
There are at least six more there needing fixed, between her and a neighbor.
I hope to get another pregnant one done next week from there.
She lives across the street.
By the time I got home and unloaded the dirty traps and began the laundry, Chimi was ready to pick up from the clinic. I went and got her, and about 3:30 p.m., her people picked her up.
After that, I had to buckle down and do the front lawn. I'm not someone who likes to do yard work. But this time of year, things grow back in a day, seems like. And we only get this two day window without rain. Today I need to cut the backyard. Yuck. Tomorrow more rain and if I don't cut it today, instead of a foot high, it'll be two feet high by the time the next break from rain comes.
We did our first grass cutting of the year yesterday. And it needed it! Timing was good because we're having several days of rain now. I enjoyed your scenic ride and especially the music you put with it. What is the yellow stuff in the fields?
ReplyDeleteOn cue, was pouring this morning when I got up, so happy I got it done yesterday and the day before. Seemed like such a waste of nice days however, to be pushing a lawn mower.
DeleteI am glad you got at least a little sunshine. And still longing for some of your rain. I need to work in the garden too.
ReplyDeleteMore rain today. We've had too much. Wish we could move it down to you.
DeleteWhat a nice little drive with such pleasant music.
ReplyDeleteIt's the backroads to Lebanon, heading south and to the west of Lebanon, then coming up to the south side. The major road into Lebanon is now closed until next fall so they can install a traffic light at one intersection. There are traffic jams in the evenings on that route, due to the increase in population. Now the traffic has to find another way into Lebanon. Already a big wreck on one residential way in. I go backroads down and around.
DeleteWe got sun also today. Didn't make quite 60 degrees.
ReplyDeleteWe got into mid 60's which was so nice, felt like summer heat we are so deprived here of sun.
DeleteI always looked at grass cutting as functional exercise.
ReplyDeleteIt's true---you are right, it is very good exercise, especially when the grass is over a foot tall and still wet down in the bottom. I have to say, have received some compliments on the look of my lawn today. That's always nice.
DeleteI always talk to my kitties when returning home from the vet's office. ~grin~ Here, I do appreciate are quite predictable rains but wish things would dry out enough so I could plant some cold tolerant vegetables. Today's temperatures dropped way down, though, so I stayed inside. lol Best wishes to you, your friends and family, as well as upon all your endeavors, my dear.
ReplyDeleteWhat is way down in temps for you? Our sun days got to mid 60's. It felt like mid summer heat we're so deprived by now. It was horrid here today, absolutely poured all day and was dark and depressing. At least we got two gorgeous days to remember.
DeleteI hope you enjoyed you days without rain. Hopefully you'll get another break in the rain soon.
ReplyDeleteHope so!
DeleteUgh the rain. I mean I know how important the rain is for things to grow etc but it makes everything so dreary.
