Most of us Americans cannot do any higher prices.
Stop with the tariff wars please! What have we suddenly got against Canada? Canadians, most of us love you.
Harder times to come, I fear, with prices.
My cold is on the wane finally. Still giving it a couple days. If I remember colds from the past, there's usually a couple days of roar back, I call it, just when you think you're over it.
Besides, I'm rather liking my isolation of the past five days. I could easily become a hermitess.
I read the two books my neighbor gave me for Christmas. She got them at a thrift store---both mysteries. Not bad. Not good either.
The first one was slow going, not fast paced, rather boring I might say. Its a book you could put down midway through and forget to finish it and never regret it. Set in Australia. Cop on vacation. Gets drawn into a missing woman case from when he visited his friends there the year before. If the plot is going to be so slow as it was in this book, going over the same things again and again, to take up space, it better have some side plots or something to keep interest. It did not.
Second one was a bit more edgy and twisty. But I knew how it would end within the first four pages. I knew I just had to plod through the side plots and conversations and manipulations until it got there but it got there finally and I moved on with my life.
So no great reads to report.
Male cats are already fighting out front on the street. Reminds me of yowling politicians. Last night the fight I broke up, then my neighbor broke up when it moved to her yard, was between that big tabby boy, that probably lives next block and some pretty boy gray long hair I've never seen before.
Finally found who owns that black male with the white paws. They're trying to find him, said he's been missing a few days, and have a neuter appointment for him next week. He's been on the roam. I put the camera out, hoping I'd spot him so I can tell them at least he's alive. I checked my yard to make sure he wasn't holed up injured. Nothing though, just startled the neighbors cat, Stevie, who was in the middle of coughing up a hairball near the back fence.
I've got a couple garage guests for the night. SCR asked if I could loan traps to an Albany woman who had contacted them wanting to get some Albany cats fixed. SCR had two spots Monday to spare. So I loaned the traps and she caught two of the 7 needing caught. They're overnighting on the cat shelves in the garage. She'll take them to SCR tomorrow. They'll get fixed Monday. They're 3 to 4 month olds.
It's good I cancelled my Monday spots. I would not have been up to trapping this weekend. Actually my spay spots got moved to a week from Monday. I'm really overbooked for week after next. Over my head booked, all over the place. But next week, I only have one trip to Corvallis with a pair from Lebanon, Gleaners on Tuesday, then the monthly meeting for Gleaners Wednesday with potluck. I need to make something for that though.
Winters the cats are inside most of the time, not out in the cat yard. Lots more cleaning involved.
