Noon yesterday I drove to Lebanon to pick up an order I'd made, thru KKR. Poor Keitha of KKR, is down with a slipped disk in her back. Most of what was coming down on the drive over and there, in Lebanon, by just before noon, was wet snow.
Later on, the snow came to Albany too. It was beautiful. Ok, it was also very odd, for this time of year and for this town. We got to roll with all the climate weird stuff going on now. We've made our bed, now we lay in it.
The falling snow was so beautiful.
It was all gone by this morning.
Just pouring rain again. I already had five cats in my garage from Lacomb. They'd prefed in my traps for a week, but they're all super tame. They said the neighbors property was drug busted, and a bit after that happened, here came the cats to their barn, starving, begging for food. They're trying to get some into Safehaven, but until they can, they didn't want them to reproduce. There are still two others who need fixed. I only had the five spots.
I took them up this morning.
The power just went out again here, knocking my computer dead. This is the third time recently. It's so common here. I have no idea why. It's back on now.
I don't have anymore spay neuter spots until after Thanksgiving. The clinic is still not making TNR appointments in January. Usually they would have done that end of October. None of us know what's going on but its making me worry. We get so few now anyway.

Its nice this couple took pity on these cats and helped them out. HCC, my nonprofit, is for now, until they place most of them, helping them out with cat food also, just to make things easy on the people and the cats.
It is years since I have seen snow falling. You are right - it is pretty.
ReplyDeleteAnd, as usual, thank you for all you do.
It was gone by this morning, and the rain has been pounding down all day. Snow is prettier than heavy cold rain, that's for sure.
DeleteSo sad about the cats. They must have lived at the drug house. No one thinks of the pets when things like that happen.
ReplyDeleteDrug properties are often full of cats, since the people never fix the ones they get free as kittens. Its really terrible tragic for the animals involved.
DeleteI don't think you get much snow at all? To be falling in November must be unusual.
ReplyDeleteRarey get snow here in town. Its crazy to come in early November, but the weather has not been normal in Oregon, for a few years. Crazy hot summers, crazy intense rain....on and on. It's all on end.
DeleteWow. That was real snow, just not flurries. We are having unseasonably warm weather here and I'm not sad about that. The cold weather and snow will be here soon enough.
ReplyDeleteWe never know what might happen anymore with the weather. Someone posted on facebook that its the fault of people already decorating for Christmas, that we got valley snow in early November. We also didn't used to get the atmospheric river events, cold monsoons, we call them also, where we get a months worth of rain in 24 hours. Well, we got them, but not so frequently. I could go on and on about our weather changes but blah blah blah.
DeleteThe lack of TNR appointment is concerning. ~hugs~ Best wishes to you all.
ReplyDeleteOn a light note, snow is continuing to pile up here as I type. My husband will be surprised when he emerges from his burrow because he stays focused on his computer to the exclusion of all else. I closed that window blind to retain heat since he never looks outside anyway. lol My biggest question is whether he'll still want to leave the house today as we'd discussed. :P
How much do you have by now? I don't mind driving in snow, my car does well in it. But ice? I'm never on the road if there's ice.
