Mama Cora, the Calico, is now caring for her own kittens in the bathroom, day after her spay.
Thank goodness!
Now I can just be the fun grandma, pop in, take a couple out to hold and play with and give them snacks and then stick them back with mom. Ah, the grandma life!
Cora is eating and drinking well too. Relief. She was under five pounds, as an adult mom!
Our weather today is Blah blah ICK blah blah.
Yeah, more of the same, low temps, showers, and then evening humidity. Where is summer?
This weekend should be nice, then Monday and Tuesday is forecast to be a mini heat wave of low 90's, then supposedly back to more crappy ick weather, but the forecast changes so rapidly.
So far, there haven't been the seven straight days of normal temps no rain to seal the gutter leaks.
The kitten diversion is nice.
That's wonderful news! I'm glad everyone's doing alright.
ReplyDeleteOh me too, big relief.
DeleteUnder five pounds? I am even gladder that you finally got her - and the help she needs. Some days I think that Jazz eats more than Cora weighs...
ReplyDeleteHa, on Jazz's appetite. Yes, isn't that pathetic, that she is so run down for an adult? This is her second litter this spring/summer. I got a torn up skinny male fixed there in mid March. By first of April, when they got all the spots at the FCCO and I returned to trap, he looked so good I didn't recognize him at first.
DeleteI bet it's nice to have kittens around. So cute. And hopefully you'll be able to place them when they're ready.
ReplyDeleteThey're fun! But once weaned they'll go to Silverton Cat Rescue for placement. I don't do adoptions.
DeleteKittens!
ReplyDeleteYes, KITTENS!!!!! They make me smile!
DeleteI'm surprised that Cora is well enough that she can care for her kittens. Five pounds is awfully small, but I'm glad that there's a better life ahead for her and her kittens.
ReplyDeleteCats are incredible, but wild cats are unbelievable. They are tough, resourceful and so dedicated to their friends and family members. Certainly not a solitary species, as people like to say.
DeleteMy precious Luna was a great mother under tough circumstances. I still remember hearing what sounded like baby birds in my garage that summer of 1999. Her arrival, insistence on moving in, and my subsequent asthma/allergy medical regimen are an enduring legacy. By the way, geriatric Jezebel is trying to walk on my keyboard as I type. She wouldn't be here if Luna hadn't adopted me. lol Be well, my dear!
