Courage

The courage and leadership exhibited in Ukraine are unbelievable.

I sound like my brother who is obsessed with the battle and so upset little kids are being killed. he called me an hour ago and went on for a long time about it.  I wish he wouldn't get so worked up over things he can't do a thing about.   He wants the US to go blast the hell out of the Russians.  Trigger a nuclear war, I asked, you ready for that?  No one is.  But it is a bit of a tipping point for humanity.  Do we sit back and watch an aggresser rip people including children and their country apart, because they're not in NATO?  What does that say about humanity, if we do.   And if we did go in, yelling to hell with you if you shoot off your nukes, Putin, and say we're coming in because its the right thing to do and holy hell, someone in Russia understand this is where we decide what being human means, so please stop Putin from pushing the nuclear buttons.  Maybe we deserve to be nuked if we sit back and watch little kids be blown to hell on our phones and computers, and do nothing to stop it.  At the least, it may be an end to our ability to claim morality in defense of any issue.

My brother was calling to say happy birthday to me but he's too wrapped up in this conflict to talk of anything else.

So happy birthday to me.

I took four more cats up to be fixed today.  I was given the spots by the clinic late yesterday.   I collected four easy cats from the same trailer as Mad Max and Bandit were at.

I took up Maxine, an alleged female I quickly determined should more aptly be named Max.   Yup, a boy.  I took up Izzy, too, and her two kittens Smoky and Blacky, both girls.

Izzy's kittens, Smokey and Blacky.

Max, formerly Maxine

Izzy

After I returned, I had an eye appointment, for my torn viscous fluid thingy that has given me a large blob floater and lights along the permimeter of my eye.   This has been since just after that head slamming fall I took in the slippery ditch at the ditch colony.    Anyhow, I don't have to go back again.  The doctor said I may have those lights and the blob floater for the rest of my life.

Then I returned the two Lebanon cats fixed yesterday.   Time for my afternoon nap.  Be a short one since I need to go pick up the four cats at the clinic now.

Sometimes I get depressed over having no one to celebrate anything with.   Oh well.

A very happy birthday to you.

I hope your brother gives a thought to how many innocent Russian children could be killed by a strike against Russia.

  2. Happy Birthday.
Not going to make any prediction on war. The situation in Ukraine just mad and sad. Grant Trump lost his bid for office of Presidency. Although what worries me, that Trump is so much like Putin and he would want to join with Putin.
I know he could run again. And even possible win. That worrisome to me.
Coffee is on and stay safe

  4. Happy birthday.

It's hard to know what to think about Ukraine. We should help, but should we help? I don't know what the right thing to do is, but sitting back and not helping doesn't seem to be it. Sigh. I can understand where your brother is coming from.

    1. I don't know either. Feels like the world is slipping into darkness. What's going on in Texas is just horrific also. I'd like to wrap my arms around parents with kids who are not what Texas calls normal. They are being witch hunted seems like.

  5. Happy Birthday to you! I sure wish we lived closer so we could go out for a night on the town - In my world that means going out for pizza and a pitcher of beer, not exactly a night on the town but we'd definitely have fun!
