A cat was dumped in the cruelest of places. The cat, maybe two cats, were seen crossing the road, in the dark, almost to Yellow Bottom campground, out on Quartzville road, along the river.
This is a wild and scenic area, remote and lonely in the winter, the road in often a go at your own risk game of dodge the falling rocks and fallen branches.
There have been quite a few cats dumped up in that remote area over the years. More this summer and fall and now winter, than I can ever remember.
Dumping a cat way out there is an act of extreme cruelty. They will die slowly of starvation or exposure. The acts of psychopaths to do such a deed.
Such people of zero character and criminal intent seem almost common these days, people who are so "tiny" they get their thrills hurting things much smaller than themselves. They're so pathetic and evil.
Anyway, I tried to find the cat, as did a couple other people. I did finally see the cat and then tried to trap him or her. She's just a little thing, a tabby on white and not very old. But even though I was there all night last night, she wouldn't go for a trap. Likely she got traumatized in a trap when caught and dumped. Its very sad and horrible and my failure will add to my nightmares I'm sure.
It's an hour and a half drive for me up there and 20 miles up a road that narrows and winds around steep corners beyond Green Peter dam. The road is strewn in places with fallen rocks from steep unstable cliffs and fallen branches.
It is a wild and beautiful corridor. And sometimes the location choice of psycho's to torture little animals. Like this little cat dumped out there.
Bless you, little kitty.
I am a Cat Woman. My self-appointed mission in life is to save the feline world! To accomplish this mission, I get cats fixed. Perhaps my mission might be slightly delusional. This blog is a mishmash of wishful thinking, rants, experiences as I remember them and of course, cat stories and cat photos. I have a nonprofit now, to help keep the cats here cared for and to fix community cats. Happy Cat Club formed in 2015. Currently, we are on a mission to fix 10,000 cats.

I guess at times you can't do anything and let happen what will happen, sad as it must be. To dump cats in such a place took a lot of effort by the sound of it. I wonder why.
ReplyDeleteYes, a lot of effort someone put into it, makes you think the person is really really sick in the head.
DeleteI am so very sorry.
ReplyDeleteSome people really are oxygen thieves. Complete and utter oxygen thieves.
