Spring

Although its been raining here and is supposed to rain every day for the foreseeable future, I thought I'd post a bit of spring.  Maybe one day spring will include sun.

Forsythia in full bloom.

This House Finch has been singing its heart out around the yard lately.

This is Purple Dead Nettle.  It grows like a weed around here.  It's in the mint family and the leaves are actually edible.

How about a Ladybug on the prowl:

My cats have not been happy about the pouring rain and general yuck.  They are anxious for sun too, and warmth and a dry cat yard.  Good luck on that, kittos.

I've been cleaning, as always, mopping, washing cat beds, cleaning litter boxes.  Yesterday I cleaned the second bedroom top to bottom, including washing all beds and carrier beds.  I got a thumbs up from the cats for that project.

Can you tell these three kitties, all from that 60 cat Olson Lane colony of six years ago, are related?   Gracie, on the left, Vino and Mopsy atop the bed.  The Olson Lane cats, all adults when they came here in 2013, are an amiable crew.  They get along with any and all cats and enjoy life.

Wide eyed Vino!

Gracie, one of two long hair gray females (the other being Bluebell) of the Olson Lane crew, who also have a white chest spot.  A third long hair gray female, Hawkeye, has no white chest spot.
We may have one to two inches of rain in the next two days.  Maybe severe storms on Sunday (thunder type).  Who knows.  It's spring.  But so far minus the sun.

    1. Vacuum cleaners, how they hate those. Miss Daisy didn't mind, being deaf. We all hope for sun here.

No sun but at least you have strong evidence of spring. I love ladybugs. Oddly we get an occasional one visit here.

    1. strong evidence it may come on with a vengeance soon. We're all testy in the wait room for it though. Grouchy and mean spirited too.

  4. Fun photos. We also have forsythia blooming, but the dead nettle hasn't taken over yet. I knew it was in the mint family, but I didn't know you could eat the leaves. But that makes perfect sense.

    1. I think a lot of the mints are edible, even the ones considered weeds.
