I'll tell you what. Today, five more trailer park cats will be tested for Fiv/felk. Keep your fingers crossed. And the last three adults from the downtown Albany woman, who had 14 unfixed cats, will be fixed. Hurrah!
I almost had the gas station man's cat, too, in for spay today, but last minute, when he called with a few questions, his wife got mean in the background, screaming first "what if the cat is pregnant", to which I told her husband "she'll be spayed anyhow. I'm not psychic and can't tell that before she's opened up."
I tell him the cat will need to stay inside at least one day, preferably two to four days, after surgery and in the background I hear "That cat cannot stay inside my house. Tell her I know it's free and all but we're not doing it."
The gas man apologized profusely. He wants his cat spayed badly. She's had many litters. He apologized also for his wife's behavior in the background saying "She's like that."
So I just have the three from the downtown woman. Mostly now her cats have to stay out near Scio, since the landlord, here in Albany, allows her to have only two. So she brings in a different two each week to be with her. But she's been going out to Scio to get the ones that aren't fixed, so they can at least be fixed.
Tiny Tiki gets a reprieve. Keni, Poppa's president, is going to take her. She has a cage she can be held in for a couple months til the retest. Keni's dealt with Felk positive cats before she said. The other five here who have not been tested will be today. Cross your fingers for them.
The boys, Kimo and Twitter, are growing like weeds, just in the few days here. What a difference some quality food will do, some rest, a warm place to sleep and parasite treatment. Tex is still in the bathroom, because he tested negative. I believe Kimo is his brother, but I am not sure about Twitter and Tweetie, since they are slightly smaller. My guess is Kimo will be negative, and part of the Tex litter, but I don't know.
I have someone in Philomath interested in Soda and someone in Salem interested in Angel, the longhair kitten dumped in the cemetery. So I'm really really excited about the possibility of two adoptions. Oh my gosh, it is wonderful to think about.
I am a Cat Woman. My self-appointed mission in life is to save the feline world! To accomplish this mission, I get cats fixed. Perhaps my mission might be slightly delusional. This blog is a mishmash of wishful thinking, rants, experiences as I remember them and of course, cat stories and cat photos. I have a nonprofit now, to help keep the cats here cared for and to fix community cats. Happy Cat Club formed in 2015. Currently, we are on a mission to fix 10,000 cats.
