Gosh Darn It---My Friend in West Fir, who does TNR, her husband was laid off

I have a friend in West Fir, who formed a nonprofit, Feline Assistance Network, after first adopting five barn cats from the Koos warehouse, from me, then, began volunteering with the FCCO. She has been a diehard for cats in that area, West Fir, Oakridge and Eugene, ever since. She just told me, her husband has been laid off.

He had gotten a new and better job, which allowed Larissa to quit her Eugene waitress job, which had been taxing in both gas money and the long drive to and from, her Eugene job. She still was working one day a week in Eugene at a spay/neuter clinic. Today her husband called from the road to say he'd been laid off. He has not been at that job long enough to get unemployment. Both of them got their health insurance through that job.

I just want to cry. It's so bad out there, the economy. What will they do? She still has 29 cats or some such number there, at her place, to care for, and she hasn't had an adoption in a long time either.

The cats and animals are going to suffer horribly from our economy. I wish the dumbshits out there would clue into this, and at least fix their cats and dogs, before things get worse, to lessen the suffering. But those who don't fix their pets are too dumb to do it now, if they haven't already, so, what are you going to do?

And those who are responsible members of society, like Larissa and her husband, now unemployed, what are they going to do?
