Want some kittens for your barn or shop or backyard or bedroom or to warm your face nights? Ten from one small area in Columbus Greens trailer park are being fixed today, with two still to trap and they need options quickly.
Last night, I trapped 8 and left a trap set that had two more kittens in it this morning. I also saw two more gray kittens run off, not yet caught. I took the ten up to be fixed in Wilsonville this a.m.
I first stopped by the Millersburg colony to check the two traps I had left set there. Inside one, the same orange tabby male I caught a couple days ago, fixed at the Neuterscooter last March, from the neighbors barn. I chuckled as I released him. He likes that wet food bait. In the other trap, the neighbors tame spayed torti. She doesn't live at the barn, but at the barn owner's residence, a half mile away. But I knew her, recognized her and turned her loose. Just like a torti would, she yowled out her disdain at what had just happened to her. How awful for a pampered torti, to be trapped like that and treated like a common stray. What an indignity!
I took off then up with the ten kittens. We handled most of them with ease, at the clinic, weighing them in preparation for their surgeries today.
UPDATE: The ten kittens turned out to be seven boys and three girls. I have homes now for five of them for sure--all three black males, the torti and the female gray kitten. That leaves, of these ten, the Siamese, the two orange tabbies, the black female, and the gray male. Not sure but someone may be taking the Siamese also. Anyhow, placements for five, right off, that's not bad.
The woman taking the two black males is a woman I placed three cats with several years ago, five years ago, to be exact. They all came from an old couple's house on Cloverridge road. They were all adult cats and the old couple was moving, selling out to a developer. Of the three, one has died, and two are still there. She has a rodent issue out there, and wants a couple more. She's very nice, I remember.
She'll take the adult torti, too, from the trailer park, if I catch her and get her spayed. This will cut things down for that disabled man, whose tires were slashed last night. And the skinny man I saw, might be the culprit. He isn't a neighbor, and was cutting through a trail behind the disabled man's place, from the field. He had no business being where he'd been, so that makes him suspicious to begin with. I had thought he lived in the next trailer and that was why he came from between the two trailers. But he doesn't live there. An old woman does.
Can you send me some photos of the ones you have left? Are they tame enough to be house cats? I'll pass around the photos and post them on my office door.
