I have trapped 8 of the 12 or 13 kittens, at the kitten colony so far. I just got home, had to run to Millersburg to set traps there, while the six from there, fixed today, are still not there. Of the six from there fixed today, there were three girls and three boys. The seventh cat fixed today was the male from Albany.
So, after catching 8, I ran out to that place, and set two traps there. It was a little weird, because all the lights were on in the house, but nobody answered my knocks. She had said she'd be gone tonight, but I figured that meant, you know, home by 8:00, but I guess she meant later. But it was a little spooky.
Some people fall asleep with the lights on, too. Some people, maybe like me. I've been falling asleep on the couch as of late, with the TV on, waking up in the wee hours of hte morning, cold and stiff, and surly.
I saw at least three more kittens at the kitten colony I haven't caught yet, a black and two grays, and one torti adult. I saw a gray adult, eartipped no less, taken in by Spay Inc. and met a woman who said she feeds 12. When I asked if any were eartipped, she asked what I meant by that, so I told her. Low and behold, they all are. They're the Husspuss colony cats. She's only two trailers from them. She was happy to understand the eartip thing and now know the cats she's feeding are mostly fixed. She is a cat woman for sure. It was nice to meet her.
There are supposed to be four adults the disabled man feeds too. Two tortis', a gimp gray and a black. But he's only seen the one lately. I could smell the coons coming in, too.
I have in hand--a Siamese, one gray, two orange tabbies, and four blacks. That's my kitten catch for the night. They are all getting fixed tomorrow. I have six cats recuperating in my garage too. I'm a little overwhelmed. The disabled man doesn't want any of the kittens back. The lady who fed three kittens, is taking one. But I don't have anywhere for the rest of them.
By the time I went back, to check those traps again, after going to Millersburg, coming home briefly, unloading some of the kittens, the wheelchair man who feeds the cat says his adult son came home and said two of the wheelchair lift rigged van's tires were flat. Both rear tires. I asked if they had been slashed because that's quite suspicious that the two rear tires are so flat when they weren't flat when he drove home. He doesn't know yet.
When I left the first time, I saw only three people still out--two hispanics, one a teen or late teens, across the road, and some neighbor I think, from maybe the trailer next to his, tall, thin, light brown hair. If they were slashed, those people might have seen somebody come by. Cowardly act, if that's what happened. Who slashes the tires on a wheelchair rigged van a severely disabled man drives? I mean that's scum who would do such a thing. Cowards, too.
Well, maybe they weren't slashed. I guess I'm losing faith in humans, to automatically think that's what happened.
I am a Cat Woman. My self-appointed mission in life is to save the feline world! To accomplish this mission, I get cats fixed. Perhaps my mission might be slightly delusional. This blog is a mishmash of wishful thinking, rants, experiences as I remember them and of course, cat stories and cat photos. I have a nonprofit now, to help keep the cats here cared for and to fix community cats. Happy Cat Club formed in 2015. Currently, we are on a mission to fix 10,000 cats.
