I am a Cat Woman. My self-appointed mission in life is to save the feline world! To accomplish this mission, I get cats fixed. Perhaps my mission might be slightly delusional. This blog is a mishmash of wishful thinking, rants, experiences as I remember them and of course, cat stories and cat photos. I have a nonprofit now, to help keep the cats here cared for and to fix community cats. Happy Cat Club formed in 2015. Currently, we are on a mission to fix 10,000 cats.

Cats of the Street of Nightmares Video and a Plea for Help with Them
I made this short video about the colony I've been working on. It's been a very stressful colony to work. The herpes virus has been making the cats sick. Although herpes is common in cats and many cats are carriers, some estimates run as high as two thirds, vaccination helps protect cats against this common virus. This is a street where many people have failed to take the simple responsible kind step of fixing their pets.
The result is tragedy for the cats and the appearance, to an outsider, that the folks who live on this street are excessively selfish, blind or just robots without hearts--like the tin man.
This colony has been very hard on me. I have five cats here from that colony, all sick. Three are the kittens in the video, all suffering from severe pneumonia, that was going on for some time before I snatched them away. The mother had abandoned them to their fates. Their mother is now fixed.
They've been here a few days and haven't died, but haven't improved either. It's painful to watch. Everyday I clean their faces several times a day. I give them sub cu fluids and anti biotics. I treat their eyes with anti biotic ointment and anti viral drops and steam them with an infant vaporizer and try to force feed them. But they've made no gains.
Then I brought a teen male here, after his neuter, too, with severe conjunctivitis from herpes and URI, because the vet said he would die or lose that eye if he were not treated.
Then I netted the male, with the exploded eye. His eye was removed yesterday. He's here too recuperating.
It's too much work for one person, along with taking care of all the others. But I don't want the sick cats out there, not until they're well, if they survive, because that gives the others a better chance.
I'm looking for help. I'm looking for adoptors to adopt the kittens here that are ready to go, like Maryann, Jiggles and Teddy. This would lessen my load. I'm looking for a rescue to help with the sick cats, that has some money to pay for vet care and good drugs for them. I need some help is what I'm saying.
