Four cats are up being fixed today. They include a female from Shedd, who was dumped off there last Christmas. She has three or four kittens hiding in a barn. I'll get to them later. She's a nice kitty, this mom. (last photo). Two more from the former Boondoggies. I stopped by their apartment last night, in search of cats needing fixed. I knew they'd rescued some kittens a few months ago, from two seperate downtown mothers. The kittens, the orange tabby and the torti, are now five months old and being fixed today. Also, a tame owned female from downtown Albany is up being fixed also.
Turns out, I didn't have appointments at the clinic yesterday. I stupidly went up yesterday with five cats thinking yesterday was today. The receptionist didn't blink an eye or say a word. Later in the day, I suddenly realized my error. Embarrassed, I called them up.
The afternoon receptionist was on by then and began to laugh. The morning receptionist had decided not to say a word because they had the room and time to do the five and so she figured she wouldn't even bother to mention I was off a day.
The upside to my dazed state yesterday is that four more cats got fixed today, although I had to hunt them up late. They asked if I wanted to cancel today's appointments, given I'd brought in five. I said "NO! Of course not." And dutifully hunted down four more unfixed felines.
I am a Cat Woman. My self-appointed mission in life is to save the feline world! To accomplish this mission, I get cats fixed. Perhaps my mission might be slightly delusional. This blog is a mishmash of wishful thinking, rants, experiences as I remember them and of course, cat stories and cat photos. I have a nonprofit now, to help keep the cats here cared for and to fix community cats. Happy Cat Club formed in 2015. Currently, we are on a mission to fix 10,000 cats.

ReplyDeleteI've recently found your blog...I've been looking for cat people blogs. I have 5 pet felines and the feral ones from the woods seem to find my home on 3 acres. A black cat has been a fequent visitor because, of course, I feed him. He needs to be neutered. What is the best way to trap him?..in your opinion.
