Petfinder.com sent me the following, in their weekly stats report from my own petfinder site. Petfinder was recently bought by Animal Planet. Animal Planet now wants to do a reality show, about a family or couple about to adopt a pet of some type, following them through the process of choosing a pet and afterwards. Think you fit the bill? NO fakos please and by that I mean attention seekers who decide to fake wanting a pet so they can be on TV. You know, your basic white trash Paris Hiltons.
I WANT this to be an Oregon family and rescued cat featured. That would spotlight Oregon rescues, shelters and the overpopulation problem here and maybe help bring in donations or get things changed. So, any family or couple or individual or might be thinking about adoption, contact Animal Planet, PLEASEEEEE! And get that animal from a little teeny rescue, because maybe that would help show the little people out there, trying to make a difference by getting cats fixed by the score and doing rescue too, all on zero budgets.!!!!!!
Here's the petfinder e-mail:
We have got EXCITING news for you. There is a new Animal Planet show
in the works -- featuring adoption and starring your Petfinder adoptable
pets!
Casting has begun. Do you know an individual or family who might be
the perfect addition to our new show? The perfect candidates will
benefit from having a pet but may not have any prior experience in caring for
one. The goal of the show will be to guide them through the adoption
process, offering education along the way to making the perfect match.
Here are just some examples of situations which might make a great
story:
A family with a child who wants a pet but does not know how to take
care of it.
A grandparent who would benefit from the companionship of the right
pet.
A responsible teacher seeking a class pet or school mascot.
A firefighter looking to adopt a dog who would join the fire station
family.
Newlyweds who cannot agree upon whether to adopt a cat or a dog.
We are looking for HEARTWARMING stories from real people looking for
the right pet to adopt into their family. These pets might be dogs,
cats, horses, rabbits, birds, snakes, or any other adoptable pet in need.
(Adopters in the Los Angeles area will be given preference to make
shooting easier; however, any great situation will be considered.)
I am a Cat Woman. My self-appointed mission in life is to save the feline world! To accomplish this mission, I get cats fixed. Perhaps my mission might be slightly delusional. This blog is a mishmash of wishful thinking, rants, experiences as I remember them and of course, cat stories and cat photos. I have a nonprofit now, to help keep the cats here cared for and to fix community cats. Happy Cat Club formed in 2015. Currently, we are on a mission to fix 10,000 cats.
