End of Summer

I suppose our summer weather is about over.

The reservoir still was up to almost full yesterday, so I went up.  I was happy I did.

It's supposed to rain next week.  Here's the upcooming weather forecast, for the coming week.

There were not too many people at the lake at first, but soon, as shifts ended, the people arrived, with boats, large and small, kayaks too and lots of paddle boards.

It was nice to watch so many people trying hard to get in last flings with the lake, like I was.

While waiting for a break in boat ramp traffic to get my kayak out, I decided, what the hell, probably last time I'd be there, and took a swim.   I drove home still wet.

A clan of turkeys were crossing a street in Lebanon.  I noticed one acted as crossing guard and stood in the middle of a lane until all others had crossed over completely.

So Long Summer.  I will miss you.  Two rainy days are enough for me.  Please make a comeback.

    1. I love to swim in the lake. I can't swim in pools due to a severe chlorine skin contact allergy. It can be iffy at the lake this time of year, because algae begins to bloom. It was fairly clear of it in many spots though yesterday. I was pleasantly surprised and quickly took advantage! Who knows, maybe I'll end up there today too.

  2. At least it won't be swelteringly hot. Nice you got one last reservoir trip in before the cold weather sets in.

    1. I was happy to get another run at the lake. It remained quite hot this summer, too hot to do much outside lots of days, weeks. And then came the fires, so smoke becomes an issue.

  3. Glad you made it out to the lake one last time. I have heard that birds have look outs sometimes, but one for crossing the street is too funny.

    1. I knew that crows have lookouts, but never had seen such a thing with turkeys. I wish I'd gotten a longer video to show that crossing guard off better. It was impressive. I wonder how the crossing guard is chosen.
