Here are photos of the five cats fixed today.   It went quite smoothly checking them in at the clinic.  Afterwards I met a friend for breakfast in Salem.  I hadn't seen her in quite a long time.  She's got such a sense of humor, cracks me up over and over.   Then I went and picked up 15 traps from the FCCO trap bank lady, for the big endeavor later in the week.   I hadn't seen her in ages either.  We go way way back.  We're talking decades.  Yet to me, she still looks exactly the same.   I don't think I do.

The four younger cats, a mom and three teens, I'll take tomorrow to Silverton Cat Rescue Barn Cat placement team.  They'll all end up together, same barn.   Feeder lady can't afford to keep feeding all these cats.  She told me she's in bad debt, been paying bills on credit cards.  Yikes.   She lost her job awhile back.  She is still trying to find another.  I told her to wait til after her hip replacement and she said she can't, that she needs the money now. I hope she can find one.  That's a rock and hard place to be between.  Placing four, that's four she doesn't have to feed anymore.   Hard times around here, for HCC too, the nonprofit.  Donations way down, need way up.   Gas prices way up.  Food prices way up.  Utilities so high too.  Yuk.

Jupiter, a teen girl

Neptune, a teen boy

Fluffy, the mom, but not very old herself

Onyx, a teen boy

Brutus, who is older and has had it rather brutal.  Skinny and with skin abrasions.  He got convenia (antibiotic) for his skin issues.  Boy does he love wet food.  Lots of it, keep it coming.
Anyhow, barely slept with wild play going down in the bathroom, where four of them were at and Brutus yowling (in love with Gigi) in the garage.

Even the wild ones like their TP fun.

  1. Your post made me smile, especially the last photo. It has happened here already, but not quite so badly.

    1. The cult of play, the cats, wild or tame, are all members. So am I. Trying to resist my urge to take off to Waldo tomorrow. Back and forth I go over it. Weather will be great! (you have preperations to make for trapping 35 cats next 2 days). Yeah, but another day at Waldo, I could die this winter and never see Waldo or anything again! (you could die from overwork if you go to Waldo). And on and on the arguements between myself went.

  2. That's too funny that even the wildcats love to play with toilet paper. :)

    1. It is funny. The joy of play. Seems to not matter what species you are of.

  3. Cats are like young children in that neither of them needs expensive toys to play with.

    1. I know! I see all the funny videos and photos online where someone bought their some expensive bed or toy, only to have the cat more delighted with the box it came in.

  4. Every little bit helps. Have you considered making a video of some of your trapping endeavors and putting it on TikTok or Insta or the like? Might drum up some new donations.

    1. I do make videos sometimes and take a lot of photos, if I can. But only put them on facebook. I'm not much for social media, it makes me so uncomfortable. I need to do better.

Over and Done

I went off to Portland yesterday with 13 Lebanon cats. I thought I had 14 Lebanon cats in the car.  Ha!  I accidentally forgot to load one ...
