Basically all I do last few days is clean. With extra cats here, even more daily cleaning is required.
I hold Petunia on my lap in the bathroom while I play with Prissy, who loves to play interactively with the wand toy. Poor Peanut the kitten isn't very active, loves to just sleep a lot.
It's pouring rain here and will be for many days ahead. Puts a damper on doing much of anything.
In the morning, I go pick up the Christmas tree ornaments the cats have turned into toys in the night. Last night, the lights on the tree were severely rearranged. Ha.
The air outside is so wet, even when its not raining, feels heavy and icky.
The city is probably going to approve a chemical plant and chemical storage being built less than a mile from me in a heavy residential area. It's disgusting the city would even consider allowing it. It manufactures a chemical product that is severely regulated due to the danger involved in its making. Or something. The gas that could be released in an accident is fatal to breath. I imagine our growth without limits city will approve it. We have little say and wouldn't even know about it had not someone written a blog post concerning the application by this company. My council person doesn't even respond to a simple email.
Not much going on, today or for weekend.

Prissy! |
Jack likes to knock things off the tree. He's good at it. And below, is sweet Petunia from Quartzville road, the cat dumped up there like trash already spayed.
A chemical plant and storage approved for a residential area? Hiss and spit.
ReplyDeleteAnd of course your tree gets rearranged. Daily.
How you manage to keep a Christmas tree... I guess you'd have to make a big stink about the chemical plant, and even then they don't care? Yikes. I heard calling your reps is better than email (but I hate to call, too, so I understand).
ReplyDeleteIt won't help to call locals on planning commission. They don't care what us peons think. The tree is tied up in several directions. For many years, over many cats, they've not managed to knock it over at least, but there's always a first time.
DeleteYour tree looks pretty.
ReplyDeleteYouTube is full of cases where housing was allowed to encroach on land near dangerous industrial plants, and what happens when things go wrong, and go wrong they do. The idea of building a new dangerous plant near housing is absurd in the extreme.
Things go wrong a lot, and with dangerous chemical plants that can be fatal and destroy many many lives. It's completley absurd to build it anywhere in this town. There is land way away from people.
DeleteLet's hope they can find another place to locate the plant. A Christmas tree is just one big plaything for cats. :)
ReplyDeleteI would hope the planning commission in town has a little more smarts than most of us believe they do and will turn this down in a flash because its really very reckless and stupid.
DeleteHow about giving us the phone number and we all bombard the planning commission? I'm willing. Hugs, my dear.
ReplyDeleteI'll try to make that happen!
DeleteI hate it when city officials ignore me!
ReplyDeletePrissy is one beautiful cat. I regret that a piece of her or his ear is missing, although the words that came to mind when I saw his damaged ear coupled his straight-on gaze is that, "Here is to be reckoned with."
Prissy is awesome and wants to be a tame girl. She is also sooo expressive. One of those cats you meet who is a little bit above and beyond the rest! Like with humans.
