Thanksgiving!

 Well, its Thanksgiving.

What am I thankful for?  Pretty much everything.

I know I have it good compared to much of the world.

I love my cats, my warm bed, even this PC I'm typing on since I hate doing things on that tiny little phone screen I mostly can't even see, which does result in some unfortunate textiing mistakes.  I love my friends and my cat traps and helping cats too.  It's like a good dream, my life, compared to what it once was.

I'm thankful for my brothers.   They shared their inheritance with me and got this house I could live in.  They didn't have to do that.  You hear all these stories of fights over inheritances and even though I got nothing left me, they shared, so I could have a roof over my head.  And I love living here.  It's the perfect place for me and my cats.  Good men---my brothers, both of them.

It's now the day after Thanksgiving.   I went to a friends house for dinner and somehow cleaned a plate, although it was messy and in the end, I held the remaining half of my mouthguard in place with a flat knife while trying to chew.  The better half of the mouthguard had broken the night before while the half remaining, doesn't fit as well.

It was slow going, to eat.   The soft roll and soft potato mash were the easiest.  After we finished dinner there, the three of us remaining sat around and chatted, napped in chairs, and I finally left after dark at some point.

Another friend delivered soft pie to me last night, and another brought me more mash, which I'm having for breakfast.

I have some very very good friends!

Tweetie is better.  I remembered I'd bought some CBD oil for Gigi, and have been giving it to Tweetie, curious to see if that might help her explosive bowel issues.  So far, unbelievably, she's much better.  Which means we all are here, not having to clean up diarrhea puddles.

Also, I've been mixing dry food in wet food, thinking 'well maybe the dry in the wet will slow her digestion process" but I have no idea what I'm doing.  Officially she has ibs, the killer of older cats.  Her food shoots through her digestive tract at extremely high speed, once consumed.  How to slow that down.  I'm also adding dried catnip to her wet food.   Afterall, its an age old remedy for colic in babies.

Today I need to brave black Friday crowds to go buy another mouthguard.  I also need to remove the dental putty plug I put in my bad tooth, wash out the hole in my tooth and then I can put more back in.   It's so bacteria doesn't grow in that hole.   I really dread doing it, however.  Monday can't come soon enough.

  1. This is the worst time to have tooth problems. I hope your trip out shopping isn't too bad. It sounds like you had a nice holiday.

    1. Not a good time to have tooth issues, but maybe a Thanksgiving to remember! I did have a very nice holiday, still ongoing, as I have the food from friends, including leftovers and two cans of soup given me by the lady and her daughter where I went yesterday. It was very lovely, the holiday.
