Tomorrow

Tomorrow I transport 12 Harrisburg cats to the FCCO to be fixed.   But they're not here, not overnighting in the garage.   The vet student, who caught them, said she'd drive them up early morning, so I can still leave at 6:15 to make the drop off time.

That will make tomorrow easier on me.  I didn't actually find something I could do up there for the day.   I don't really shop because I don't need anything and because shopping costs money.   This time, I have a book in the car however.

I cut up some more apples from my never ending supply from the tiny tree out front.  I douse them in some lime juice so they don't go brown and take a container of those.

When I go back and forth with fisher people on stories about the salmon and draining the reservoirs, I don't think they comprehend that a person who says they like the reservoir to kayak on really kayaks to be on the water, enjoying the sounds, of birds of the lapping water, the motion of the water, the inhabitants of the water, from tiny fish to water bugs, to get away from the concrete life of the town.

I think they think "she likes to kayak" as a physical sport. What could be farther from truth for me at least.

I could be on my raft.   Or just swimming the shoreline.   I don't like to hike with "fast hikers" either, who think its a race and about the miles, or ticking off another trail completed, because i like to doddle around, look at everything.  I don't think the fisher people understand some of us just want to get away from the racket, enjoy nature, water, even though a reservoir is not a natural body of water.   There are a lot of unnatural things in our world.  Like motorboats and cars and plastic kayaks and most fishing gear.  I engage them unwisely, because it will make no difference at all, if even one person can understand that some people like rivers and lakes for reasons other than pulling fish out of them to suffocate.   I think non fishing use of lakes and rivers is just if not more legit.

Anyhow, it may not rain tomorrow.   Which would be a nice change.  Somehow Gigi left the garage and got chased up onto the roof.   I had been unable to find her.  I finally heard little mews and saw her on the roof.  So I put the ladder up and climbed to roof height and coaxed her over and carried her down the ladder.   She was all wet from being up there in the rain.

  1. I am so glad that tomorrow will be an easier day. And sadly the fisher people are focused entirely on their own wants. Which is a disease of our times.
Glad you were able to rescue Gigi. I wouldn't fancy getting a cat down a ladder.

    1. It was quite an easy day in fact. I realize a lot of exhaustion from the trips is difficulty sleeping with 8 or 12 or 20 extra cats in the garage. The worry, even if I don't think I'm worrying ,affects my sleep. Without them in the garage to care for night before, I sleep so much better.

  2. No need to call a fireman to rescue Gigi. Strayer to the rescue! :)

    1. Lol! the good thing about the roof is, at least on one side, just below the gutter is the wire topping the cat yard, and it can catch a human body's weight even, if I ever fell off that side.

  4. Poor Gigi. Excellent job rescuing her; I'm so glad you didn't fall. I don't like ladders much. lol I, too, wish on a regular basis we lived near one another. ~hugs~ I try to walk/hike for exercise and keep my heart rate up yet find myself stopping to admire the scenery, which you can tell by my photos. Heh... Best wishes on your latest venture, my dear.
