Flop, the mom of the two kittens still in my bathroom, who formerly wandered an industrial wasteland and whom I caught across from the jail, is now in a great new country home, along with Sheriff, a young gray tabby male a sheriff's office employee caught there the next day.
Both were acclimated at their new home, which is a great one, then released and now seem happy.

That's where Sheriff eats too. |
As for Flops' kittens, Skippy, the boy is doing well. Loves being petted and held and purrs his head off. But Sprite his sister is still miss hissy spitty.
At this point, I don't have any options for them, as shy kittens, and will release them in here as soon as I patch all small openings in the cat yard, which I worked on more today.
I put an empty Chewy box in the bathroom for them to play in two days ago and oh my, how they love that box. My cats love them too.
Here's Muffy enjoying one.
There are about three newly dumped young cats at the park. And just over the hill, in residential, the lady is overwhelmed again. This time she has a tame pregnant female and one of her last litter kittens. That's from a meth head neighbor who allegedly told his kids to go dump the cats somewhere and instead they told this lady who went and got them. Then another neighbor only has about a week to live, with cancer, and has a female with kittens. And cats who need fixed where she works. There's just nowhere to get cats fixed right now affordably.
I mowed the lawn today. Now I'm making a weeks worth of lentil soup, mostly to freeze for the ready.
My friends made it to Michigan in record time. They arrived at their new home yesterday. It came with a cat. Which they will take great care of.
Last night I sat in the garage and listened to Jimmy Buffet Songs You Know by Heart and sang with them at the top of my lungs. My cats already think I'm nuts so....well, who cares.
I'm sure the cats appreciated the serenade.
ReplyDeleteServes them right, since I listen to their serandaes and get awakened by them sitting on top of me staring into my face then swatting it if I don't get up. But no, I don't carry a tune well, but that never stopped me.
DeleteMost cats do love boxes. Not Batty. Odie on the other hand...
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that Flop and Sheriff are doing well.
I love your description of Sprite as Miss Hissy Spitty and hope she comes round quickly.
Sigh at your never ending work. And the increasing difficulty and expense.
I like singing at the top of my lungs from time to time, too.
ReplyDeleteThank you for taking on the never-ending cat neutering tasks.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the sweet photos and videos. Hugs, my dear.
