Yesterday it poured all day here. Today, same thing--pouring.
The news says maybe this week at some point we will get a 70 degree day. They said the same thing a few weeks ago and it didn't happen. In fact, the days so predicted, barely made 60, if that.
Everyone is sick of the rain. The news man this morning said "easy 7 day forecast--Rain!"
Great.
They always say then, "well, I guess maybe the wildfire season won't be so bad, with all this rain." People look for an upside to the dreary.
We have to, or we'd all go nuts and the nut houses are already full up.
Yesterday morning, I took in rabbit to Chimtimini. I was so sleepy by then. I came home and slept two hours and had wild awesome dreams.
One involved some mountain lake and I had on a summer dress. There was a kid with some adults who challenged me to swim across the lake, so I did, even though my brother who was with me, said, come on, forget that, let's just go. I swam so fast I created a wake behind me and the kid was impressed. I was too, to be honest and thought "wow, winter must not have taken too much of a toll on me."
After I woke up I was plodding. I'd hooked up with Vivian, who had five spots but no time, and she took in today, two more from the vet student, who now has fixed over 45 in the trailer park where she lives. We need a vet student living in every trailer park. And Vivian took in the latest Waterloo park dumped cat--Piper, now at the house of his savior and feeder in Lebanon. Then also two big brothers from Sweet Home, who were driving their people nuts with them fighting with each other and marking, went. I don't have photos of these five yet.
The vet student catches her own cats. And the Lebanon lady with Piper the park dump contained him with no help. I did drive up to Sweet HOme and got the two boys up there. I'm way closer to SH than Vivian is. Oh my way, I got Tuxie, a boy from the Lebanon complex. Once home, I went and got two more from a crowded little block in Albany. They'd got the girl a neighbor had put outside to be on her own. She's had a lot of litters. Patiently this neighbor has tried to keep her in, as she has gone through heat cycle after heat cycle, trying to get her fixed. I'd gotten three of her adult daughters fixed before. She also corraled one of the males. Sketch, the girl, and Jack, the boy, are up being fixed.

Tuxie wasn't happy and let me know it. |
I went to bed early and today am just cleaning and playing with Ebony, who is still in my bathroom. Thursday morning, early, I head up to Cat Adoption Team in Sherwood with him. He won't be here much longer. He is one laid back kitty, who LOVES nothing more than to be on a person's lap.
Isn't Ebony the greatest? He's a massive cat, not fat, but huge and long, so he barely fits on my lap. He likes for me to hold his paws too and cup his face.
I tell you, he's the greatest and will make someone very very happy.
Ebony is gorgeous and made me think of Jazz. Still loved, still missed.
ReplyDeleteThey stay in our hearts forever I think EC. Ebony is indeed gorgeous and also awesome personality. He doesn't have to constantly squint now, from the entropion. His eyes are wide open and I can tell how much better this makes him feel.
DeleteHold onto those success stories. Hopefully Ebony will land in a great home.
ReplyDeleteI hope he finds a really good one.
DeleteIt been raining most of the day, here in Idaho.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on and stay safe.
Off and on rain today at least, poured so hard last two days.
DeleteYou have sold me on Ebony. Wish I could take him, but I'm sure he'll make someone else very happy.
ReplyDeleteHe is super cool, that's for sure.
DeleteThank you for sharing more of your effort, success, and ultimate smiles. The video made me very happy. Be well, my dear.
ReplyDeleteThanks.
