Darn busy body chickens. Have to be in the middle of everything.
I took them chicken scratch as a distraction. Nah, not interested.
I gave them cat food. Nope, we want the cat food under the drop trap. It's so much better.
I was out there from 10:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. First I was after the Siamese.
Got that one. I was ready to leave, went up the stairs to the loft, to feed the cats before I left, spotted a black and white, napping in a hay pile. Shoot.

I waited him out. It was a long wait, with me chasing chickens away from the drop trap seemed like every ten minutes. It was a game to them.
Finally, here he came.....the black and white!
He made a beeline for the drop trap. Got him! Ha!
Time to come on home and clean a zillion litter boxes. Up early tomorrow. Trip to the FCCO. I just have to take them up, then I can come back home. Someone else will pick them up.
I think I got them all! Yeah right.
The Black and White is another big boy. Well done - despite the chickens.
ReplyDeleteVery large boy and was not happy I caught him. He instantly calmed however. All the cats there are gray or brown tabbies and blacks. Then there's the one Siamese, the one orange tabby and the big black and white.
DeleteGood work. I'm glad that you don't have to wait around for them tomorrow and you can return home after you drop them off.

ReplyDeleteWell, he's giving me more of their eggs today when I return the cats. Already got a dozen in late December when I caught the other 13 there. The eggs are very delicious!
DeleteI'm sorry the chickens were such a pain, but you made me giggle. I cannot imagine having to clean so many litter boxes as you kindly provide. Well done on catching that handsome boy!
ReplyDeleteI have a system down with that too, the litter boxes. I have a small lidded bucket by every bank of boxes, to scoop dirty litter into. When its full, I take it out to the garbage. I also keep bins of extra litter by every bank of litter boxes, to refill. Have to have simple easy ways here or it wouldn't be so easy.
