Inflation is terrible here in the US.
Gas alone has gone up dramatically, so that it is painful to go to the gas station. I only drive now for cat related trips. Trapping, trips to clinics, and the latest drastic increase in requests, delivering cat food.
Yikes.
A case of 40 cans of wet food has gone from under $20 to just under $26, all in the last two months. Can you believe that sort of inflation?
Dry cat food has increased in price drastically also. And that's if you can even find cat food. I had to go to three different stores today to find a couple bags of dry and a case of wet to deliver to a guy here in Albany.
The case of wet was the last one to be had at the store I went to.
Whew!
Electric company is requesting a rate increase of over 12% starting next January. Garbage rates and water rates have both increased already this year. Can't even grow a garden for a little food because water rates are outrageously high.
How are we supposed to actually keep up with this?
Oh boy.
At least the nice day predicted is right on target---sunny and warm!!! Yay!
We're trying to find ways to tighten our belts. Hope things go back to normal soon.
ReplyDeleteI think that's a very common sentiment, hoping things get back to normal soon.
DeleteYup. It's not a good time for prices.
ReplyDeleteNo, its kind of scary.
Delete~hugs~
ReplyDeletePrices increasing here too. And not expected to go down any time soon.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you got your sunny day.
I wondered about other countries. It was beautiful today. tomorrow--rain again.
DeleteRising prices seem to be happening all over the world, certainly in western countries. Petrol is at record levels here. My massage today cost $10 more, the business owner saying it had been the same price for ten years but rising wages etc....
ReplyDeleteThat's quite a rate hike for a massage. I went out Monday, taking cats to the clinic and there were so few cars, I thought wow, the gas hike must be really keeping people off the road. Then I remembered its spring break. Half our town seems gone. I guess some folks still have the money to take off for parts unknown on the break.
DeleteHow much is gas there?
ReplyDeleteIt varies by the day. My gas tank is empty so i have to go search out the cheapest station which seems to be Town Pump at $4.39 (yesterday). Other stations are as high as $4.69, which seems to be the norm. Town Pump is always the cheapest, usually Mobil second cheapest. Most expensive are Chevron and Shell. Arco used to be the cheapest.
DeleteWhat's the price there, in Texas? Seems like it would be cheaper with all the oil wells and refineries. We have to get ours from refineries in WA state and California and its usually oil from Alaska.
DeleteIt’s about $3.79
