The Holidays in Short

 I didn't do anything special.  I didn't see anyone. I didn't go anywhere.

I guess its about the usual for me.

I take my car to the shop in the morning.  I'm not sure how long it will be there, as it will be worked in.  A day, a week, I don't know.  I don't know how much it will cost yet either, which is a little bit scary.

So life is slow and alone but at least I"m still alive.

Yeah I get jealous of people with family gatherings and parties and all that.   But that doesn't get me anywhere.  I wouldn't even know what to do at a party, never been to one in my life.  Or how to act even at one.  Or at some holiday gathering either.

I'm just a hick, really, no money, bad clothes, old car that breaks down all the time, no social skills whatsoever, really only comfortable with other hicks and outcasts, to be honest.

January is usually a slow icky gray dreary month.   Better brace for that.   I only have 4 spay neuter spots the entire month too, so there won't be work to distract from the gray ick of January.

I guess I'm happy the holidays are history, but I'm leaving my tree up awhile.  The cats like it and so do I.

  1. Fingers and toes crossed that the work on your car is quick, and cheaper than you expect.
That sounds like an excellent reason to leave your tree up to me.

    1. I may leave the outside lights up for awhile too, too rainy to take them down currently. We're having another atmospheric river sort of rain event right now. Online it says anywhere from $350 to $900 to replace an alternator. I'll just have to wait to see what they say.

You can go too far with self deprecation. You've really never been to a party? The only ones I've ever enjoyed were the ones I had plenty to drink and knew plenty of people already. Otherwise, I just wished I was home and not going through the motions of having a great time.

    1. No, I've never been to a party. I'm not a sophisticated person, it's true.

    2. Partying has nothing to do with sophistication. ~nods~ I am blessed that my and my husband's families held many holiday gatherings through the years. But all the people stirring up dog dander always triggered my asthma. Ah, so many memories of me standing out in the cold trying to catch my breath.

      lol

I didn't mention it on my blog post, but all I wanted was to be home with my little family while attending my brother and sis-in-law's Halloween shindig. The footage of their fire pit was from me sitting by myself. I took off for home the next morning before anyone else had gotten out of bed. :P Best wishes!

    3. I wondered, Darla, because I'm very happy with my life and home with my cats. It's cozy and warm and loving and familiar. I love it.
