All Fixed and Gone

All seven cats were fixed yesterday.

Five girls and two boys.

A friend of a friend of the colony caretaker is holding the five adults overnight before returning them.  This is a big help to me.  She lives near the colony.  I dropped them off there on the way home from the clinic and wasn't even back to the main road, when I was texted by ARCF (Animal Rescue and Care Fund), offering to take the kittens.   I pulled over and texted her back, to say thank you and arrange a meet spot.  It was our usual cat meet up place, just off I5.  I turned north then, instead of going home, and met Carma in our Wilsonville cat transfer spot and put the girls into the carriers she had brought along.  I was beyond grateful.   They're lucky kittens.

Half Pint

Smudge

Little Smudge turned out to only weigh under just under two pounds.  She was fixed anyhow.  She's probably only 2 months old.   I told one of the feeder people to watch for others in her litter.

Half Pint is in Beetle and Crawdad's litter.  They both got into foster care.  Beetle, now named Shiloh, is in a home, and Crawdad, now named Muffin, is with a Salem rescue.   There's one more in that litter I haven't caught yet.  But are there more in Smudge's litter?

Here are the other five, who will be returned today by the woman who overnighted them.

Calypso, an elderly muted calico long hair

Dotsy, who was in heat at spay, so named for the white spot on her upper lip

Another black tux adult female Minnow

Chuggers, a very large white and black male

Hood, a very very big black male, also quite sweet in his way

I had no extra cats here last night and that made a huge difference.  I got to take a shower.   I cleaned my bathroom completely first.   And I went to bed early.   It was all worth it, however, for the seven fixed, two of whom get a chance at the cush life in homes.

I went into Bimart two days ago, to get more zip ties.  I'd run out, fixing the cat yard wire over and over.  I saw these rubber boots, for $15.  They had my size, too.  So I gave myself a Christmas present.  No more plastic bag and duct tape boots for me.

Can you believe such a find, for that price, right when I need them?

    2. That's fantastic! I wonder if you should put some sort of preservative on them, like maybe even Armor All? Perhaps I'm silly but sure hope these last through all your rigorous adventures. :D And hurray for all these furry darlings! Well done indeed.

  2. Wonderful news. On all counts. Including finding those boots at an affordable price shortly after you needed them.

It's a wonder the boots were cheap at this time of year with your climate. Well done.
