Joyous Day of Hope for Humanity!

I am excited and happy and hopeful!

One day, the pandemic will be behind us, just a moment in history, a faded dot in time.

That day may be much sooner than I expected.

This morning, on the news, I watched those sleek beautiful white Fed Ex planes lined up, loading precious cargo---vaccines!   This is the beginning of the end!   This is a great day in history!

Today I will celebrate science.  And hope!

I hope to visit my brothers next summer.

Thanks, all you scientists out there, working like elves for the last months, to come up with a vaccine.  Thank you all you thousands upon thousands of volunteers across the world who were willing to take a chance and take a mystery vaccine or possibly a placebo, to advance humanity!  Heroes all!

Sure I know about the antivaxxers, a worldwide cult of crazies, and how they'll try to fuck this up which will only extend the death and lockdowns and misery.  But for the rest of us, who understand public duty and hope---I am joyous and happy and filled with hope.

  1. A big, big hooray for scientists. And hopes that the rollout of the vaccine goes smoothly. World wide.

We can be very grateful that science has seemed to prevailed over politics.

  4. Both my husband and I have those antivax and Trump cult followers in our family. I'm planning to get a shot. Like a good black sheep does.
Coffee is on and stay safe

    1. I saw this meme on facebook, "I won't let them vaccinate me because I don't know what's in that", types the man on Parlor right before ordering Fire Tacos and Mountain Dew from Taco Bell. It was something like that. Made me laugh because most of the anti vaxxers I know couldn't care less what they put into their bodies.

  5. This is very hopeful and happy news. Besides all of the great minds that have been working on a vaccine, I am especially thankful to all of the volunteers for the early trials. That takes courage.
