I thought I was doing great, with the extra 22 cats, kittens currently in my care. I did go to bed last night exceptionally early. No, I didn't watch the election results. My TV is acting up, or rather the antenna isn't getting much reception to the TV lately. I get some strange channels that play old shows. I enjoy that. But not the major networks. That's probably a good thing, so I watch less TV maybe.
But I got up way too early in the morning too, and began all the cleaning chores. Went to pick up the last kitten, trapped last night in one of the two traps I left set. Came home, and couldn't even function. So I slept for four hours. I just toppled over into my beautiful bed.
The good news is the FCCO will fix all 22 of the cats and kittens tomorrow. That's unbeleivable. She only had 16 reservations. The bad news is each has to be in an individual live trap. I can usually only get that many in if I borrow some small traps. I did borrow four small traps, so that I'd have 16, first to take 16 of the other Lebanon colony cats in and now for this colony's 16. But 22?
I'm trying to do it my head, create a jigsaw puzzle of how it can be done. I tried to remove the passenger seat of my car, which is how I used to do it, but the bolts are stuck and I lost interest because I'd need a board too and I'm just too tired to remove the seat and cut a board to fit the space and attach legs for it.
I've got some Tru Catch traps. They are smaller than the larger size tomahawks and havaharts I have. They are, however, four inches longer and two inches taller than the small tomahawks. I'm going to attempt it with those plus three kitten traps. Will take me three Tru Catch, three kitten traps plus the 16 small tomahawks to get them in. Come on, how hard can it be?
I'm really very excited to get 22 cats fixed in one day tomorrow. One fell swoop colony fixing, I call it. Won't that be just fantastic? She will tame the kittens and find them homes but they'll all be fixed first which is great. It's a lot of work. Man those kittens just eat and poop. But it will be worth a few days of work to get them fixed in one day. It's fantastic!!! Thanks FCCO!
Wow, that's a tall order! Good luck to you and the 22 kitties. If anyone can figure it out, it would be you.
ReplyDeleteGot it done!

ReplyDeleteyeah, its too much for me, I get too excited over such a possibility, but I pulled it off and feel good about it.
