22 Cat Trip

Thursday I took 22 of the Lacomb cats and kittens up to the FCCO clinic in Portland to be fixed.

That's the back of my car, showing 12 traps with cats.  I ended up using 3 Tru Catch, 16 small tomahawks and three kittens traps to transport the 22 cats to the FCCO.  All in the back of my car.  I could have stuffed in more, in fact.  Between the trap layers, I laid out pee pads.

After I checked them in, I headed to one of my usual parking lots, to spend the day.   I had forgotten to bring a book.  I napped off and on and watched the wind whip around the leaves.  A squirrel entertained me too, leaping from tree to tree and dining on red berries.

At 1:00, an online cat friend met me for lunch, although it took three tries to find somewhere we could go inside for lunch.   She's funny and it was fun talking with her.

I got to pick up the 22 cats a little early, and headed home about 3:30 p.m.  I drove straight up to the Lacomb colony and returned the 10 kittens of the 22.  She had a room ready for them.  She will tame them and find them homes.  I took the 12 adults home to recuperate for the night with me.  I had four spots yesterday too at whs, and went to pick up three mostly outside cats.  Unfortunately, they just had two cats, the other had not come home.   But it worked out ok, because I had two other outside cats that were easy to get on my list.  The folks brought the pair over by 8:00 p.m. Thursday.

I was dead tired yesterday morning.  I drove the four cats up to the Salem clinic, then went to Lacomb, to return the 12 adults.  I came home exhausted, but I did manage to unload the traps and clean them and start on the laundry before collapsing into bed until just after 1:00 p.m.  I picked up the cats in Salem, got them returned and was back in bed again.

Albany boy Yoda, fixed yesterday

Albany girl Precious fixed yesterday

Albany boy Two, neutered yesterday

Albany girl Cocoa, spayed yesterday
I was gifted a flat of eggs for transporting Two and Cocoa up to be fixed and back.  I was gifted two game cams, for use at colonies, by the Lacomb colony couple.  They are very sweet and also paid my gas to the clinic.  It was a great week for Linn county cats.   26 fixed!   I'm taking the weekend off.

  1. You definitely deserve the weekend off, although you won't really have it off because you have a lot of cats to care for. But I guess that's easier than trapping and transporting. I'm glad that you've finally found someone nice out in the field. The Lacomb couple sounds great.

    1. They were a pleasure to help, L and L, and that is such a different thing to encounter. I told them that.

  2. I am not surprised you were exhausted. 26 fixed is an amazing achievement.
The wind whipping through those trees was impressive too.
    Enjoy your weekend off.
