The rain has been coming down in buckets.
That's Oregon!
The Santiam River, at the park, is running high. But that only really says they are releasing a lot of water from the dams several miles above the park. There are two, Green Peter, and below it, Foster Reservoir.
Last year I thought as a project I would take a photo of the river every day from the same spot for a few months. I never did that though, but maybe this year I will try. Maybe not every day, but why not? It would be interesting.
I returned Joe Saturday, to the Lebanon junk shop colony. I had forgotten my better camera and had my phone camera only. I was trying to see who was left needing fixed. I secured 12 FCCO reservations for the 4th of December, mainly for a Jefferson colony but that lady really doesn't have 12 cats needing fixed. The rest will go to, hopefully, more from the junk shop colony. There's also a female and a male needing caught at the Lacomb colony where 22 are now fixed. She's going to try for them. I showed her how to selectively trap with her own trap. At the junk shop colony, I know there is another black cat needing fixed, maybe an elusive tabby who already once escaped a carrier, and maybe four orange and orange/white ones left, but I'm not really sure.

In the above video, I'd put out many cans of wet food, to try to attract the cats in, so I could check to see who might not be fixed. In the video, five cats are eating, three calicos and two orange ones. Only the one orange one on the right isn't yet fixed of these five. The other four are all fixed girls.
I had an easy restful weekend. It poured and so there wasn't much I could do anyhow, except catch up on laundry and cleaning. The cats took turns on my lap. Finally it was Slinko's turn.
I began the process of trying to find a new medical provider again. The residency clinic I was using, was on my second resident, although I'd only seen her twice, is closing. She moved her residency to Corvallis, but I don't want to drive to another county to see a provider. So anyhow, I'm on a list of people waiting for a new provider and have a way, until then, to fill my one prescription (I think). I don't know how long it will take to find another. The last time, which wasn't that long ago actually, it took six months.
Have a great week everyone.
I am glad that you finally got a break this weekend.
ReplyDeleteSlinko looks very happy to have finally claimed your lap.
I HATE taking potluck when it comes to doctors, and with Medicare, I mostly succeed, but I assume that you're on Medicaid, so does this mean that your options are seriously limited? If so, I guess you can look forward to turning 65. I must say that I like Medicare enormously.
ReplyDeleteYes, rain by the bucketfuls, which means that I get to empty five-gallon buckets that catch the overflow from the patio and the valley-tin over the living room. Two nights ago, I was emptying them hourly (ordinarily, I empty them once or twice a day)! I live no more than 100-feet from Amazon Creek (which flows off Spencer Butte), and when it rains like this, I start thinking about flood insurance, the problem being that it costs $500 a month, and I've been here for 30-years without the Amazon ever once flooding. On the off-chance that you don't know, in the old days the Willamette Valley typically flooded in Spring when heavy rains combined with snow-melt to run everyone from their homes. Now with the dams, this doesn't happen anymore, and for that I am indeed grateful. I'm also grateful that I don't have neighbors whose yards look like the ones in the photos... I share your love for cheerful colors (I strongly favor pastels, especially pink), and you're clearly a darn good painter. I'm privileged to know you.
I love color and drab bums me out, especially during an Oregon winter. I hope Amazon creek doesn't flood you out. Growing up we had routine floods in the Coquille valley lowlands. Often we couldn't get to Bandon, via "the dike" route as it would be flooded over. Or our parents would take us out on the dike to look at the flooding or at night to watch the owls hunt all the rodents forced out of the fields onto the edge of the road. I'm on dual coverage, Medicare/Medicaid and it can be tough to find a new doctor. Usually I just get assigned another by Samaritan, whomever might be taking new patients.
DeleteHopefully, this time you'll find a new provider sooner. We aren't yet in total lockdown like we were six months ago. However, I'm trying to get some appointments in right now in case we go back to emergency only procedures.
ReplyDeleteYes hopefully it won't take so long but really, if I can get my one prescription filled, if I have some dire medical issue come up I can use urgent care.
DeleteI'm so glad you got to enjoy cats on the lap. :) That junkyard looks like a dangerous place for humans and animals alike. Be safe! ~hugs~ And I'm sorry you're struggling again with finding a primary care physician. That stinks.
