ReplyDeleteThat seems like a lot of water over the falls, is it? Most of our falls are anemic in autumn because of less rainfall.
The water in that part of the Santiam is regulated by the corp of Engineers and how much water they release from the two dams farther up river. We've had a tremendous amount of rain here in November. They try to keep reservoir levels lower this time of year, to be able to control flooding, if we get too much rain (or snow that might suddenly melt) above the dams. Anyway, we usually get more rain in February and March than in November but this year, different story.
