I took up the four cats I had, to be fixed today.
Was an easy day, really, despite still feeling the effects of my cold. Turns out the receptionist at one of the medical places I went had gotten the same exact symptoms and she gave me advice on good ways to get it gone fast. I don't have any Emergency, the powder she suggested, but plan to get some tomorrow.
I also added some square concrete stones to the cat yard, where the cats were using the dirt as a litter box instead of the numerous litter boxes. I'd had those stones for three months and never placed them, so it was about time to do that. It was fast, as I'd already prepared the area.
Looks nice now.
And boosted my spirits to check off a project.
The weather is off and on rainy now with constant rain forecast starting next week. But it will be clear for Halloween.
I already returned the Sweet Home girl, Tammy. The streets were crowded there with kids and parents, with a downtown trick or treat event going on. I'd already had to turn around on Airport Road in Lebanon. There was a line of cars that had come to a complete stop. I could see a tow truck up ahead. Cars behind me were attempting to turn around. I finally decided to do so too, when a sheriffs SUV flew by. Then I turned around, and went back to go up Oak, to get around the stoppage, and there was a state trooper blocking traffic from going on the way I'd just returned from. Great, I thought. I'd been caught in the 20 or so cars lined up behind the wreck or whatever it was up there, before the trooper stopped traffic behind us.
I got gas in Lebanon, to head on out to Sweet Home and while doing so, watched about four fire vehicles roar by, sirens blaring. I never found out where they were headed or why.
| Tammy, a beautiful torbi girl, was spayed today. I prioritized her spay, over a long wait list I have, because she has had so many litters. |
The other three cats fixed were from the Junk Shop colony in Lebanon and there are at least a dozen more needing fixed there. At least seven are now done.
Rosy is a fairly young orange tabby girl, while Lion, a long hair orange tabby, was judged to be nearly 10 years old by clinic staff, when neutered today. Hungry, the calico, was judged to be about six. I knew both those two were a bit older. I hope I can get some extra spots somewhere to get this colony completed. I had FCCO reservations for them the 12th, but cancelled when my knee surgery was scheduled for the 9th and now those spots have been given to others. Affordable spay neuter is in such high demand in this state, the reservations are like getting a golden ticket.

I took a nice nap when I got home from taking Tammy back to Sweet Home. My cats want me to go to bed and I just might but when I go to bed early I wake up early. But....my bed is calling my name. And there's not much I can do when it calls but answer.
Well done again.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, the siren call of bed is hard to resist. Sleep well.
My bed called me for 10 hours last night and I heeded that call.
DeleteI heard you can vote for legal magic mushrooms. What fun!
ReplyDeleteWe do have that on the ballot this year here in Oregon. Magic mushroom magic! Hope it passes.
DeleteHope you're cold is better soon. You'll have to let us know how Emergen-C worked for you. I had never heard of it until now.
ReplyDeleteOk, is that how it is spelled then. I'll be looking for it today.
DeleteIt is nice to complete a project. I'd like to see a photo of that. And what darling kitties. You've done well once again. :) I hope you get plenty of rest and feel better fast.
