Lion, waiting for his dental |
The clinic pulled two teeth by hand they were so loose already, but said he should have a full dental.
From the same colony, late last October, Gunny, a gray male, stayed with me in the garage after he was neutered until he could get one. The clinic had also told me he would be best served to not return until he got one. And he did. Then he went back home. Look at him now, doing well, fat even.....
Gunny, looking good six months after getting neutered and a lot of bad teeth pulled.
So the clinic can do Lion's dental Saturday. It won't violate any corona containment rules to take him to the coast clinic. It will be my usual trip, dropping him off early and retreating to a beach parking lot to nap and maybe beach walk. But then he can go home and be done with it.
The only issue is there won't be anywhere open to eat lunch, except take out, and I normally take my own lunch so that's no big deal at all. The governor recently closed all bars and restaurants in Oregon, along with schools.
Many shelters have closed and are doing adoptions by appointment only. The FCCO spay neuter clinic in Portland is closing next week I'm told. I hope the Salem shelters spay neuter clinic doesn't close. But I'm running out of cats to trap anyhow, at least right now. I've finished multiple colonies in recent weeks.
Dental issues are a bitch whatever your species aren't they?
ReplyDeleteGlad that Lion is getting help. And hooray (again) for finally getting not one but two colonies done and dusted.
They are a bitch! I can certainly testify to that. Yes, good that Lion will get his teeth taken care of. He sticks his tongue out and drools and hopefully that will be over by end of day Saturday for him.
DeleteSuch beautiful kitties. How kind of you to help them.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteHope you have good weather for your beach visit.
ReplyDeleteSurgery cancelled, due to new rules that restrict use of masks and gloves.
DeleteWow. Strange days, eh? Be well.
