Photos I Suppose

I'll start with the 7 cats fixed today.

Four are from the infamous McLagan road barn full of orange cats.   Almost all the teens, kittens and cats I took to be fixed from there were orange, male and female.  Including the five orange kitten newborns I found down in the wall of the barn.  All of them survived and by now are fixed and in homes.

In the end, we caught seven more kittens in the ceiling of the shop.  She intended to tame them and find them homes and was not interested in waiting to adopt them out until they were big enough to be fixed.  Well, she found homes for only three of the seven and a few days ago called me wanting to get the last four fixed.  Today that happened.

Three girls and a boy.

Brighty, a girl

Glory, a girl

Shimmer, a boy

Tina, the only non orange of the four.  In fact she's one of only two non orange cats among 16 now in the barn.
The other three cats fixed are from Sweet Home.  They include a mom and her adult son, plus another adult male.  These two boys are extremely odiferous.

Callie, who was pregnant again, but barely

Sterling, Callie's adult son

Tuxie, an adult male
Only the Sweet Home three are still here, but they will go home tomorrow.

I returned all 15 cats who were fixed Sunday at the FCCO clinic up in Portland.  We'd trapped 16, but the 16th cat was in terrible shape, too bad to go to the clinic so Karen put him in a cage inside her place, on a heating pad.  This evening he went to her vet and he did not return from that visit.  He had FIV, was skin and bones, dehydrated, had horrible diarrhea, both ears infected, only a couple teeth left......anyhow, he is no longer suffering.  He was also tame.  Someone had left him behind to suffer like that.  A lot of that goes on around these parts.

So long, little guy.

The cruelty of people towards animals knows no bounds.

  2. The orange genes are obviously strong.
Thank you and Karen for stopping that poor boy's suffering. A part of me really, really hopes that the dumpers experience similar pain in their own lives.

End of Warmth

We had some nice days.   But the heat is gone. We'll be in the 60's again for awhile, with perhaps some drizzle. I love the heat.  ...
