The Broken Record. Six More Fixed.

I'm sure people tire of reading this blog.   Six cats fixed.  Seven cats fixed.  Twenty cats fixed.  Blah, blah, blah.

That's my life.  Same old same old.  Probably younger folks don't even know why I would say "broken record" or where that came from.  Get yourself some vinyl, and a record player (I hear everything old is new again) and after awhile, you will understand.

Rounding them up, getting them fixed.  My self appointed job.

Cat wrangler.

Well, my job does help communities, the environment and cats, both the individual cat and the population as a whole, and people.  In fact, it really improves everything.  So I like to tell myself, as I labor away.

I had six reservations yesterday.  Diana in Brownsville had four.  So she took the female, Matilda, from the Brownsville colony, along with the last two kittens from there, in on her four reservations.  Because I had others needing done.

Four more Sodaville kittens were fixed.  They're the ones in my bathroom, taming so fast, it's cute.  Their in the trap and fixed photos, wide eyed, under the influence and not so happy.
Maui

Kona

Rowdy

Timbers

Kona, Maui, Rowdy and Timbers were fixed yesterday.

The other two come from Sweet Home.  A lady rounds them up from various places with high numbers of unfixed cats.  Unfortunately, she has been evicted no cause from the trailer park where she has lived a very long time.  She's not sure why.   She's scrambling to try to find somewhere else to live.

And the lady who feeds the two cats the other woman brought down to me, meeting me in Waterloo with them, herself now has a housing problem.  Her house burned down last Friday.  She had fed all these cats as strays.  A teen female plus five sick kittens from the same place went to Meow Village a couple weeks ago.  But I could not find anywhere for these latest two to go after they were fixed.

Midnight was the name given the mom of those sick kittens.  The lady thought that black teen female Meow Village took in was the mom but she was just a teenager, not lactating when spayed.  So this time, she did actually snag the mom of those kittens.  So she's the real Midnight.   The tame sweet gray one is a boy named Chuck.

And there are two to four more up there same place needing fixed and eventually a new place to call home..  The lady who lived in the house that burned down is coming back to feed them, but they sure need a place to go.   Maybe after kitten season dies down, if it ever does. Hasn't so far.

I'm about to take them back to the cat wrangler, who will return them.   Was an easy day, yesterday, since four of the cats who went were already in my bathroom.

The Real Midnight, post partum and all, mom of those five sick kittens Meow Village took in, now fixed.

Chuck, a very sweet little male
Ok, now some kitten photos because that's about all I do now, play with kittens.  I vanish into the bathroom and may not come out for hours.  My cats are pissed.  Too bad.

Kona Timbers and Biscuit

All the kittens like to play tug o war.   Kona and Biscuit are relentless players however. The above video is a little dark but Kona is going at it.

Rowdy loves to play!

Kittens make my life a living hell of play and purrs.  Ha ha.   See complaining about kittens even comes out wrong.

  1. You do indeed do good work. And I am glad that you had a (relatively) easy day yesterday. Not surprised the kittens have wound you round their furry little paws either. I prefer cats, but kittens are soooooo cute.

  2. We all get tired of our jobs. However, just listen to what you're saying, " my job does help communities, the environment and cats, both the individual cat and the population as a whole, and people. In fact, it really improves everything." Because it's all true.

Thanks for the kitten pictures and videos. There's nothing cuter than a kitten. :)

  3. That's so true about the saying 'broken record'. It didn't occur to me when I read it, but kids would be clueless. Heh... You, my dear, are a bright light in a dark world. ~hugs~ 'My cats are pissed' cracked me up. Thanks for the kind word on my blog. My husband and I met thirty years ago come next summer.

  4. I sure remember the "broken records", the scratches that meant it would jump back and play the same thing over and over until you nudged the needle to jump that spot.
