Deer in the Park

When I went up to the county park on Sunday, to spot cats (never saw a one but did see footprints), I did see some deer.

I took some photos when I drove down Peoria Road, which follows, roughly, for awhile, the east bank of the Willamette River, down to Harrisburg.  This was when I returned the cats to the Harrisburg colony.  It was a gray and dismal day and only a day before a plane would crash, in our severe windstorm last Friday, killing all four people on board, along this same road.  The people killed were a mother, father, their 17 year old son and the pilot.  They were flying up from California, to check out the University of Oregon, as the young man was considering it.

  1. Beautiful photos! So tragic about that family. Like you, I wonder why the pilot decided to fly in such conditions. ~sigh~ Be well!

  2. There are some wonderful photos here. Did you use filters on some of them?

Nice photos. Deer are usually so flighty so I guess you used some zoom, but the photos came out well enough. Are they daffodils? Very pretty.

    1. The used Canon I got on ebay has a 12x optical zoom, increased by four with digital zoom. I don't think it was maxed out on zoom or I wouldn't have been able to hold it still

  4. Love the deer. That is a pretty area. Which is no consolation for the family and friends of those who died in the plane crash.

    1. Yes, spring is making things green, but the rain continues.

    1. Thanks McGuffy. It really is a beautiful park and so glad all the cats there now are fixed. Most are gone now, and it is hard to believe, there may be only five cats left in the park, after I got over 50 fixed. But many belonged to campers or were kittens or adults I took out. I'm very happy with the outcome there. It was hard but all good things are hard.
