The Lunar Eclipse was tonight. I was excited because the weather was perfect.
Not only that, the eclipse happened early, about 8:00 p.m., so viewing was splendid. I took my lawn chair out and watched. I was astounded and awed.
The moon looked so close and stood out, perfectly round, blood orange at first, huge and full, suspended. It was unreal!
I took some photos, no tripod. I just held my breath to stay still and made myself go completely relaxed, so I could take photos on aperture preference setting.
Pardon the number of photos. I'm still giddy.
As the lower part of the moon again caught the suns' light, with the glowing bright edge, I was gasping in amazement. I greatly enjoyed seeing this eclipse.
I am a Cat Woman. My self-appointed mission in life is to save the feline world! To accomplish this mission, I get cats fixed. Perhaps my mission might be slightly delusional. This blog is a mishmash of wishful thinking, rants, experiences as I remember them and of course, cat stories and cat photos. I have a nonprofit now, to help keep the cats here cared for and to fix community cats. Happy Cat Club formed in 2015. Currently, we are on a mission to fix 10,000 cats.

You must have quite steady hands. On the other side of the world it is a non event but the moon is pretty nice at the moment.
ReplyDeleteYes, I do have steady hands, sometimes at least.
DeleteIncredible pictures! We had a cloudy night so I only saw part of the eclipse for a few seconds when the clouds parted.
ReplyDeleteThanks, the weather was great here for viewing.
DeleteLucky you! We had a sky full of clouds last night and couldn't see any of it.
ReplyDeleteThat's too bad, Kathy. Usually during eclipses here, its cloudy, so this was unusual.
DeleteNice! Your photos came out so much better than mine.... but I still enjoyed watching this spectacular event!
ReplyDeleteIt was spectacular!
DeleteThank you for sharing these awesome photos! I was atop a mountain in Utah and terribly excited but we had lots of cloud cover and barely saw anything. At least I got to experience the moment with some good friends.
ReplyDeleteOh no, I wish you could have seen it, but being on a mountaintop with friends, that's awesome!
DeleteIt was. Thank you. And another group of gals joined us who happened to be sisters. That was a special moment of silliness and camaraderie.
DeleteSounds like a wonderful time.
