A Way to Still Get TV in the Mid Valley

Click post title to go to a letter to the editor in today's Democrat Herald. This man describes how he rigged his TV for maximum number of channels. He bought two different roof top antennas, one facing north and one south, so he could pick up channels from both Eugene and Portland signal towers, after the digital changeover, which happened today.

He has both antennas up high, on 8 foot 4x4's with ten foot poles attached to those. Each has its own converter box and the north facing antenna has a signal boost box of some sort, available at radio shack. This is an expensive fix, however. Just on the north edge of Albany, one man reports since the change, he doesn't get any channels, except now and then, he gets OPB.
