More cats from the Lebanon situation, where the seven kittens were born in the boat. I got that male the Lebanon trappers got, from there, fixed yesterday, through Poppa funds. They then trapped three more females. Two are pregnant and sitting in my car right now. I am awaiting word from Countryside, to see if they can work them in today.
The third female has a destroyed right eye that needs removed, so the Lebanon trapper is holding her until the Neuterscooter gets here, so her eye can be removed. We are taking donations to help pay for that. Usually, with the Neuterscooter, the eye removal costs about $40, the spay $20, plus $5 for the eartip.
The Lebanon trapper also caught the mom of the seven kittens. She was hedging about crawling under that house to find the kittens and finally got the cat caretaker's husband to agree to do it. For gosh sakes, they should have been offering to begin with.
So anyhow, there are two more to catch in that colony--one more female and one more male. The total fixed there, once the last two are caught, will be two adult males, five adult females and seven kittens. 14 cats! They'll get seven adults back.
KATA gave me the number of an Albany woman whom I then called. She had a pregnant female she wanted/hoped someone would foster through the rest of pregnancy and until the kittens are weaned. She'd then take them all back.
I told her the truth, that she would never find someone to do that. I told her about all the kittens being dumped already. KATA just picked up three or four four week olds dumped up at Foster Reservoir.
The woman is pregnant herself and has other kids. Her husband and her are out of work, going through both bankruptcy and foreclosure, and they have seven other unfixed cats already, some of them kittens from this cats last litter that they could not find homes for. In the end, she said "let's get them all fixed." Sounds like a nice person in dire straits, but those are 8 I'm trying to work in right away, too.
Update: My vet clinic called to say they could do the two pregnant Lebanon females plus the two tame pregnant Albany females from the eight cat situation. So, all four are up being fixed right now.
Hi Jody-
ReplyDeleteI want to donate for the NeuterScooter cat that needs the eye removed. How do I do that? I went to their site but the info they want is for the appointment and I'm in Maryland. The boys are so beautiful!
Take Care,
Judith
I know you can do it when you register a cat. But how to donate when you don't register a cat. I will call her and let you know. THANK YOU!
