  2. I like Binks ans wew can call him Binie for short until he grows up, in which case, cats - just like humans, understand when a name is babyish. My Quan Yin now prefers YY and not Yin Yin and she has a particular Siamese merp when anyone calls her Yin Yin. So I honour her request- she is a trained therapy kitty with a diploma, an award of appreciation, thank you cards from many happy families and understands many words, esp dinner in English, French, Hebrew, Yiddish and Gaelic. Also now Serbian since my bf - an immigration lawyer - won a case to keep this wonderful woman in our country and she repays us with free (tho we insist on paying her) cat sitting. Had she returned to Bosnia, she would not now be alive! That seems to be the case with many women there.

Anyway, sorry to digress. Other names - not so sure about Spatch but it's different, I could adjust, lol (I named my own tabby years ago Montague after a county in PEI Canada but bed of the M) so maybe Maddie (Cats respond best - acc to research and this does seem to be true anecdotally too loathe as I am to gibe n to anecdotes, lol) names that have two syllables at least - Billie, Sammy, YY, lol) Then again, I think Spatch cd grow on me- I like to be malleable, lol
Wee Bertha is cute and we can cal her Bertie for short oren Francais, Berthe pro. the French way which sounds very elegant like the elegant little kitty she is. I think Buster has been overused and a cat needs a name to feel special about so I would rename the black and white guy something with a B - Billy, Benny, BiBi - after the Israeli PM, maybe? - and I do like Valya, it IS unique!

Pls do not take all this personally - I am just thinking out loud, lol I shd ask my kids at work - have a contest. Name the kittens! Put up a big poster in the hospital? What do you think? Am I too late?

  3. I think a kitten (and Mum) naming contest would be a grand and fun thing to have - whaddya think Jody?

Any spare names could be used for future kittens!

I know what you mean about the name Buster, but he does look quite like a Buster.

Valya is the short intimate form of Valentina btw - inspired by Valentina Tereshkova, the first woman in space!
