I am a Cat Woman. My self-appointed mission in life is to save the feline world! To accomplish this mission, I get cats fixed. Perhaps my mission might be slightly delusional. This blog is a mishmash of wishful thinking, rants, experiences as I remember them and of course, cat stories and cat photos. I have a nonprofit now, to help keep the cats here cared for and to fix community cats. Happy Cat Club formed in 2015. Currently, we are on a mission to fix 10,000 cats.

Mickey, One eyed boy from Marilyn Street, Now a Canadian Citizen
Marianne, who adopted Mickey, the one eyed long hair orange and white cat who was in dire straits when I first met him, just sent me another photo of him. Mickey now lives in Canada, with a former clown, who is a teacher. Mickey weighed in at barely five pounds and was on deaths door when I netted him. An eye, infected with herpes and then a bacteria, ruptured. I had seen his blood streaked side as he dashed out of an old car he slept in. The next morning, I netted him. His eye was removed courtesy of donations from the likes of Mike and Linda, a Portland couple I've never met. I named him after Mike and Linda. Originally I called him "Miklinda." Now he's just "Mickey" and a happy cat at that!

Speaking of orange and white cats...my neighbors adopted an orange tabby on white male from Safe Haven last week and he was ear tipped. Apparently he was an outside cat, not an inside cat and he busted out the screen and is now hiding out in the cul de sac. He came over for food last night but he's skittish and I can't get near him. I was wondering if you had taken in one of that description for neutering that you can remember.
ReplyDeleteI don't turn over cats to SafeHaven, but that doesn't mean I didn't get a cat fixed that then ended up there. I'd have to see a photo.
ReplyDeleteThat's what I meant, taking him in for neutering, not taken him in to Safe Haven. He's elusive. Not sure if I can get a photo, but I'll try.
