Hoping

I am hoping the Millersburg man is successful tomorrow morning. He's taken up the food! Yay! And he's going to trap in the morning. He is very good to those cats. The Millersburg calico, still here, seems to be enjoying her vacation and is eating everything in sight. I have wormed her. She gobbled the latest wet food so fast she didn't notice the hidden bits of droncit pill. Ha.Ha.

I got a call from Dallas. Yes, Dallas. The woman wanted me to take in two 8 week old kittens right away. She was apparently calling all shelters on petfinder. I told her "no". She said she got them from a friend, and now one of her dogs wants to kill them. I tried to divert, tried to get her to pledge to get involved in Dallas with solving the cat problem, since she said they are huge animal lovers.

All she wanted was for me to immediately take the two kittens. Like I'm going to drop everything and go clear to Dallas to take in more cats from some stranger who got kittens and now doesn't want them. Does she really have a dog trying to kill them? I don't know. People tell all kinds of lies when trying to get someone to take their cats. I never believe anybody anymore. If she does have a dog trying to kill them, she could certainly keep them safe by putting them in a room and closing the door to the killer dog.

On my website, on my phone message, I clearly state I do not take in cats from the public. That, however, is not enough to stop people. People want their needs met and they just don't care who they harrass or put out in the process.

This behavior is so prevalent I really have a hard time believing anymore that there are decent nonparasitic people out there.

If you go on any website that allows comments you also see a disturbing trend--beratement and belittlement of others is all the rage. Cyber bullying is a hobby for many people. Because I was often the target of bullies on the local newspaper websites, I cancelled my account with them and now rarely even read them. They allow cyber bullying to go on, seem to even encourage it. That's sick. Go to youtube. Look at anyone's site. The comments are disgusting, often threatening or violent or vulgar. It's all the rage---tearing into people and tearing them up on public comment sites.

It wears into you, to see that everywhere, might make some people think it's ok behavior, since it is acceptable on local and state newspaper sites, and even on all the TV news station sites. But it is not ok behavior.

So my world has become a little bit smaller lately in my avoidance of all this public acceptable bullying behavior. But I bet there are a lot of people out there disgusted by what is now considered normal also avoiding exposure to the same. One day maybe there will be so much disgust and avoidance of this behavior and the sites that allow it, that the world will become a better place.

Until then, I am hoping the Millersburg man catches his cats in the morning! Miss vacationing calico will be rejoining her herd in the morning regardless. Her room needs cleaned and other feline vacationers have her space here reserved for the weekend.
