The old box springs frame after I took the rest of it apart beginning its new life as a cat climb. I'll paint it or cover it in carpet, something.
Sam atop the torn up old cat tree, showing off, in the background, both of my newly painted walls. The hot red wall still has some blue tape around the window frame up top I haven't removed yet.
I painted a wall green. I like the color. I've had the cat runs down so the cats have been mad at me. Very mad. Today I stuck the prelims up for putting up the runs again, plus some new ones. It's not easy on me. The garage, a one car affair, plus a little teensy space I work in sometimes, to build things, and it's a teensy space, is kind of jam packed for doing much of anything. I usually use traps as a sawhorse, to cut a piece of wood.
I'm putting one run together in the two feet of space behind my car. Well anyhow.
I am using the box springs frame for a cat climb. I hear them already investigating. I hear booms, bangs, crashes and bumps, then the thunder of 16 to 24 feet racing down the hall in a panic. Time to put the earplugs in.
I haven't painted it yet. I should have painted it first, but it was an impulse thing, to screw one end of the old box springs frame into the four by four I attached to the wall, with one by four's. I'll go with it now. Too tired not to.
Midori came all the way down from Ridgefield yesterday to spend three or so hours, for my birthday. That was something, a lot of trouble on her part. Made me feel special, and good. Thank you Midori. We had a lot of laughs. She made it home before dark still, which was pretty good since it's a long long drive. Was really nice.
I got worn out last week. Did too much maybe. Am trying to get enough sleep this weekend. It's late now I know. Will sleep in to be sure. Then I'm trapping four in Jefferson that have to be relocated but that group helping the DD woman has a home for them for now.
The Pink House woman called. Mad, at first, saying she never told me I could take the calico in to be fixed from her place. When she says "calico" she means the smoke female. I don't know why she refers to the smoke female as a calico but she does.
She first claimed she found her baby out back dead then quickly changed it to she wanted the cat to have her kittens before being spayed since she was so pregnant. I knew this was drama. I kept my head and told her the cat wasn't lactating and wasn't pregnant, which she wasn't. IN fact, and I told her, she had the uterus full of cysts, so bad that the vet thought she might have something real wrong with her, like FIV or Felk.
The Pink House woman calmed down then, realizing she was caught in a lie about finding the cats dead kittens, since she couldn't nurse being off getting spayed and her not being pregnant or lactating. She'd also told me to just take her and get her fixed and I reminded her of that. She finally conceded, and said there are still three needing fixed at her place and they're all males. I already knew there were three not two left, which is too bad, since I'm running out of fixing money.
Anyhow, I hope to get those four trapped tomorrow at the DD woman's place that will be demolished very very soon. And a friend in Corvallis is bringing over two from Corvallis that need fixed. And I still have the two in the bathroom and by golly I'm getting them in somehow real soon, so they can be returned.
So, if I catch the four tomorrow, who are just down a couple blocks from the Pink House and down the other way a couple blocks from Desperate Woman colony, that will be 23 fewer unfixed cats in a very small area in Jefferson and that is good for everybody.
I am a Cat Woman. My self-appointed mission in life is to save the feline world! To accomplish this mission, I get cats fixed. Perhaps my mission might be slightly delusional. This blog is a mishmash of wishful thinking, rants, experiences as I remember them and of course, cat stories and cat photos. I have a nonprofit now, to help keep the cats here cared for and to fix community cats. Happy Cat Club formed in 2015. Currently, we are on a mission to fix 10,000 cats.
