I am a Cat Woman. My self-appointed mission in life is to save the feline world! To accomplish this mission, I get cats fixed. Perhaps my mission might be slightly delusional. This blog is a mishmash of wishful thinking, rants, experiences as I remember them and of course, cat stories and cat photos. I have a nonprofit now, to help keep the cats here cared for and to fix community cats. Happy Cat Club formed in 2015. Currently, we are on a mission to fix 10,000 cats.

Feather and BS
I took the above photo of Feather, the rest area kitten, today. She is gorgeous and growing fast.
Today, after returning the black male to the Pink House and trying to catch the unfixed Blue Point male who was trying to hump one of the now fixed teen males, I headed by the backroads to the BS colony--the deadend street where I got over 100 cats fixed, where the Starvation Kids and Shady hail from.
She wanted to give me some canned vegetables and stuff.
To my surprise her son's ex wife is living in their backyard. I expressed my astonishment, since they had before, told me all these horrible stories about her ways, her drug addictions, the extreme means she would go to, to get prescription pain meds from doctors, even injuring herself, her manipulative and lazy ways, etc. To see that she is now living in their trailer in their backyard was surprising.
The BS old woman said it's only because of her grandson, for his sake. Her husband was not as accomodating and wants her gone and can't believe she's there.
So their son's current wife has two more cats. She is hard on cats. I mean it. She is a person who should never own a pet. They've killed a bunch of them through neglect and just by abandoning them. They got two kittens last summer after dumping two more on his parents, one of whom was almost immediately killed by the dogs across the street.
One of those two kittens was then killed by a neighbors' dogs and the other ended up paralized. She told me she went into the bathroom for just a moment, came out and the kitten was injured and the puppy, who then was only a couple months old, must have done it. Her husband, however, told me later she kicked the kitten and that's how it got so badly injured. They had that kitten killed at the vet, since they had no money to pay for the cracked pelvis or broken leg she'd given him.
So then they went and got two more kittens. They have hinted strongly I should get them fixed and I said right back, "If you couldn't afford them, you shouldn't have gotten them."
I'm not getting them fixed. It's too much for me, knowing how short their tragic lives will be with this couple.
The ex wife of the son, now living on the son's parents' property, had cats she refused to get fixed. I guess she abandoned them all, when she lost her place to live, her mother in law said without emotion. This is exactly how the whole clan behaves towards animals.
I vowed after leaving there today, never to return. It's too painful to see the suffering of any animal they encounter. Animals have no choice or control over their fates. Anyone who adopts cats to the son and his latest wife are nuts. They get the ill fated kittens off craigslist free ads.
As for the Jefferson four, still in my bathroom, they are actually going to an adoption group in Portland now. And as for the barn where they were to go, well those folks want a couple mousing cats and may take in the three gray teens from the Jefferson Desperate Woman, whose mother doesn't want them there. Might work out in a good way for all seven cats.
