I got a call today from the family of the latest Columbus Greens colony caretaker. This is the old woman colony. I'd trapped 12 so far, of 16 needing fixed, just before Thanksgiving. She went to her son's place for Thanksgiving. They found her dead either the next day or the day after that, of an apparent heart attack or stroke, inside her trailer.
The family wanted me to know and they said that she loved those cats dearly, and they wanted me to help place them.
The 12 cats fixed so far from there were entirely paid for from Poppa Inc. funds. Most of the cats are kittens. She'd tamed one of them, a little torti, whom she took inside, to make a house cat of, along with a beautiful stray tame muted calico. I do not know what became of these two cats.
It's all just very sad.
