Yahoo! And a Merry Christmas to all. All four kittens tested negative this morning. Even before we left, Grasshopper was vomiting up tapeworm segments. He is currently recuperating in my arms. They went ahead and neutered these two unfixed boys, after they tested negative, and gave them rabies vaccinations and Profender, a back of neck treatment that kills round and tapeworms. So Grasshopper is happy, asleep in my arms as I type this.
Here's the sad part about the whole thing. I can smell raccoon from a good distance. The trap I caught little Blizz, the Siamese in, was there three hours between my last checks in the night. At some point, after the kitten was caught, a raccoon came near enough to leave the musty smell of coon on the towel covering the cage. I feel terrible that he was traumatized in the trap. He will get over it.
I am going to bed. I can't solve every cat issue in the world. Someone called the clinic wanting my number, because they were angry. They said people dump off cats and there are lots and she already has two cats and doesn't want these, and wants someone to come and take them away for her. They refused to give her my number, saying they only give me people's numbers, then I can decide whether or not to call. But when she told them she wanted them all taken away, they told her that I don't do that for people. She then I guess was really not happy and wanted the vet clinic to tell her where she can take the cats.
Well anyhow, am going to bed. Tired out and it is certainly Miller Time. At least the kittens are safe from the cold, negative, dewormed, vaccinated in full, treated for fleas and fixed. Not bad, eh? Not bad.
I am a Cat Woman. My self-appointed mission in life is to save the feline world! To accomplish this mission, I get cats fixed. Perhaps my mission might be slightly delusional. This blog is a mishmash of wishful thinking, rants, experiences as I remember them and of course, cat stories and cat photos. I have a nonprofit now, to help keep the cats here cared for and to fix community cats. Happy Cat Club formed in 2015. Currently, we are on a mission to fix 10,000 cats.
