This is the little girl with pneumonia, so far, improving rapidly. She has lost hair around her eyes and nose, from crusted snot tearing off, with her fur. That will grow back.
All three of the kittens I took on yesterday, doing much better, eating.
Sunny, one of the Vanman Kitten Yard colony boys, still in my bathroom.
Two of the Starvation Kids, both males, and Atom, one of the Vanman Kitten colony gray boys.
This is the adorable torti kitten, from the Elm street district.
How cute is this little girl? This is the female of the three kittens I trapped last week at the BS, nearly starved to death. All three are doing well, but still feral!
Elm street district silver torbi kitten, just four weeks old, and getting over a nasty URI quickly.
The Starvation Kids and two Vanman Kitten yard gray males, who sleep together in a carrier.
The two littlest girls from the Elm street district.
I am a Cat Woman. My self-appointed mission in life is to save the feline world! To accomplish this mission, I get cats fixed. Perhaps my mission might be slightly delusional. This blog is a mishmash of wishful thinking, rants, experiences as I remember them and of course, cat stories and cat photos. I have a nonprofit now, to help keep the cats here cared for and to fix community cats. Happy Cat Club formed in 2015. Currently, we are on a mission to fix 10,000 cats.

Oh gosh, those are just the cutest kittens ever. You take great pics. Hope they all get good homes...and thanks to you, a real chance at a decent life.
ReplyDeleteThese two are darling tortis--a silver torbi and then a traditional. They are recuperating quickly from URI's and gunked up eyes. All are on antibiotics. I think the other little girl will survive. She's a mess, has pneumonia, won't stop eating.
ReplyDeleteDid you see the Starvation Kids photos, from the BS? Oh my gosh they're growing fast now! They've been here a week and almost doubled in weight!
Whitesocks it is very heartwarming to see these kittens, starving and shivering yesterday, so happy now, out of the weather and into a clean environment with plenty of food, free of their parasites. The improvement can be so quick, with kittens sometimes. And to see the Starvation kittens just blossom. The boys are tamer of those three than the little girl, who is just adorable, and has a look to her face, permanent due to markings, that is something else.
ReplyDeleteI need kitten names, for six kittens, the three from the BS, two boys, one black and white, the other brown tab on white, and the little girl from there, brown tab on white, but much more brown tab on the face. Then the two torti's and the pneumonia girl from the URI yard.
I'm down to the three teens, two boys and a girl, and the ten year old female, needing fixed in that yard where these latest kittens came from. Then the white male, with some tabby, who tries to eat where he can, not too successfully either. There's allegedly also a young muted torti, too, roaming the area, who needs fixed. Lots of cats in that neighborhood, for sure. I still have two or three up a block to catch also.
Bless you for all your good work, Strayer. Can you imagine, these sweethearts would not have had half a chance without you.
ReplyDeleteThat little girl is just TOO adorable...I once had a kitty who had a similar expression and adored her. Sadly, this is before I became a total convert to the concept of *indoor only* cats...and Steelum was killed by a dog who'd wandered onto our front lawn in India.
And the others are just too adorable too... yes indeed, seeing them recover and grow can be so heartwarming.
Hugs to you, Strayer.
