Treason

President Bush is refusing to testify in the CIA leak, citing executive privilege. This sparks instant suspicion. If he was involved, everyone who was involved, in leaking the name of a CIA spy, that is treason, no if, ands or buts about it and those involved need prosecuted to the fullest, including our own President, if he was involved in this act.

In other news, Mr. Bush is also trying to get laws passed requiring health care providers, to hire applicants whose religious beliefs prevent them from adequately explaining or providing options to women, including birth control options, abortion, etc. People like that need to be far far away from medical fields involving women. This is a backdoor approach to cutting off abortion and birth control.

This is Taliban behavior and anti American. This is the land of the free, not the land of the religious freakazoids to run. That'd be Afghanistan, under the Taliban.

I suggest those who support such behavior, behavior whose basic belief is that women don't have the brains or morals to make their own choices, pack their bags and head on out to a place who loves that sort of behavior, like rural Afghanistan.

But watch out, our American men and women, over there fighting for just such freedom, might blow you to bits.

The morality of this country has gone to the dogs under the conservative regime. It's true.

The Enron debacle was a huge red flag to this country. There was virtually no reaction by the public or from our own government to this entity's lies and stealing, in grand fashion, from the American people and in collusion, probably even more than we know, with high levels of our government.

Always it's the middle and lower classes blamed. It's always our fault. We didn't save enough, or plan enough, or didn't sacrifice enough. What a bunch of bull cocky.

These claims are aimed at our basic guilt and feelings of right and wrong, which most of the American people have, in tact. It's blame shifting, so we don't become angry and demand accountability from our elected leaders and those they hire.

Our government has become corrupt, with people lining their pockets, saying anything they need to say to get elected, and pulling pseudo religious maneuvers, like the women's health care thing, to stake a dishonest claim to morality to those extreme religious rightees among our populace, in hopes it will be enough to get their people elected and continue pilferage.

I am also angry over something I was told by a friend of mine. Their friends' son, unable to find a job, signed on with a private contractor security company operating in the middle east. He went to Iraq. He sends reports back.

One thing he said was this company is so bad they were even sold by the notorious war profiteering taxpayer money wasting Haliburton. KBR I think is the name of the company. They get paid, apparently, by the government per employee on the payroll, not by work they do. So, the young man said, there are scores of people at the camp where he is, but no work for most of them 99% of the time. Pilferage. But that's not even the half of it.

He says seven male employees raped a female employee and were going to kill her. She was able to talk one of them guarding her into letting her go. She called her father in the states, who called his Senator who called the American consulate in Iraq. They had to send their own private security contingency to rescue this woman from KBR. But, since all the private firms working in Iraq providing security, are under immunity from prosecution agreements, nobody was called to justice for what happened.

This is nuts, of course, and probably violates all sorts of real values and morality. But hey you know, let's make sure women here in America can't get birth control or even an abortion to save their reproductive health or lives. Killing and raping, stealing, well hell, that's all just fine.

What has happened to America?
